I think they cancelled more so because of the flu that went through the club. The rain was just an excuse to get the rest of the boys out. Hopefully i can get hours off on Friday again to see them play

Lets hope it doesn't rain next Friday then, huh? :p
:thumbsu: :D

........and from what Ratts said, it was more to do with the flu and available numbers than the weather.

On the plus side, for those of us that did turn up, Tony De Bolfo gave us a tour of the new facilities.

At least, what was available. Looks good.

I want to live there.
Tony is always a gentleman

OK here we go::

As you are all aware no match today. Steven Icke came out and gave us an explaination as to why they cancelled it. He said at this stage of the boys training it wasn't a good idea to have them train on such a wet ground. And believe me it was wet. I walked on the grass for about 10 meters and my runners were soaked. It was more for risk management thing and being so close to our first game against Sydney they didn't want to risk any injuries. For what it's worth I agree 100% with the decision. It was posted earlier but what if someone had done knee.

They started off with a couple of laps of princess park (Walker in front, Yarran at the back) Photos will come later. Fisher ran about 5 laps I think.
They then broke up into 2 main groups. One inside I presume doing weights abd stuff and the other outside.

The outside bunch broke up into 3 groups of 6/7 players::

Group 1 - Were doing a drill were they were bumping and shoving for position untill a whistle blew and then they would all lead out (there were only 3 balls) and those in the best position would get the ball kicked to them, the others had to dive full length and slide on the guts on the wet turf. Very funny.

Group 2 - was a drill consisting of a tackle bag, a smother and a shepard. Very fast paced and it seemed quite taxing on the players. Great effort by everyone on this drill

Group 3- Did the old keepings off drill.

Hoops, Betts and walker all trained thier arse off.

It was a very vocal and committed session. After everyone had gone inside fisher ran more laps. I dont know how many as I left at this stage. But he was training bloody hard and looks very good.

Over all I was very impressed with the intencity and the commitment shown by all the boys. There was a lot of encouragement and a lot of back patting and a real team spirit around the place.

I have taken a shit load of photos and will post them later.

Cheers

was a long shot at a Collingwood - Centrelink joke
hoping one of them sees it and loses a bit of their soul :)

Why? Are you on a recruiting drive for Carlton supporters?

Won;t be able to make, but we would appreciate a de-brief
Thanks
:D

I got de-briefed in Casablanca airport, it wasn't a pleasant experience I assure you...

Thanks Toad for the report.

Great news on Fisher, last year wasn't great for him, he has his opportunity now without Fev and a new structure, we all know how good he can be for us!!

Toadie, please explain...

Great pictures.

Small mercies with Henderson in the middle of the pack in the running. :thumbsu:

Hampson was at the back like Yarran early on, but has improved his endurance.
