Balmer has us taking Cahill.

Will be interesting to see if the Master does any more deals.
Reckon SOS will be looking to get that 22 back from Port who are not adverse to trading it. Williams would be a good choice at that pick or Rivers or Taylor although risk involved with him in terms of drive to play AFL.

Really hope we trade back up again.

Dangle 44 and next years 2nd for a 2nd this year.

We were going to trade next years 2nd for Martin anyway so let's use it now.

Another pick in the 20s tonight would be awesome.

Get Robertson. Knows how to find the ball. Footy mind. You can't teach that.
We just took 2 inside mids with our first 2 picks doubt we would look at Robertson now, more likely a Rivers, Williams, Taheny or Taylor.

The Michael Gleeson article in the Age says that we fielded three bids for pick 9. The footage of the negotiations is going to be fascinating. Hopefully it gets released.
Would love to see this.

We any chance to use our future second to get back in?

Was Robertson's disposal too much of a concern?
Nth maybe look like they could be in the position to keep building points for next years draft, maybe something like our future second and this years 43 for pick 26 and a tweak of later picks...

I managed to get a copy of SOS's goodbye letter to the league.

You might need to read between the lines to understand his true message...

For Young or Stephens I had planned to trade,
Up until Sydney ruined that with an unexpected raid.
Cheekily I bid on Henry and Green as a time-wasting intervention,
Kemp now became my true draft intention.

You all thought on me this placed too much onus,
Obviously you underestimated the size of my cohones.
Up next I grabbed Philp for a free swing bonus.

Assuming no problem's with Kemp's dickey knee,
Leaving this draft I am filled with glee.
Last thing to do now is to grab Martin for free.

P
I quite like him. He’s a lot quicker than he realises. Like super fast off the mark. I’d like to see him play VFL for a year and really build confidence. I haven’t seen him up close enough to work out whether that upper body will fill out. It needs to. It’s not Paddy Dow bad but it needs work. His kicking is solid I think. Action looks slightly weird but it’s solid. Hands seem ‘ok’ without being amazing. I haven’t been able to work out what keeps his numbers down. I would have liked to see him pick up 3-5 more a game. Overall I think he’s a great pick. Just adds another player to a burgeoning midfield.
Yeah Philps kicking for some reason looks like hard work not sure why, odd really, but he seems to hit the target most of the time, his handballs are delightful especially the long ones to put teammates into space, has great awareness in traffic and great burst speed when he finds the gap, in terms of his disposal numbers I think he had a few down games which drag his overall possession rate down still had a fair few games over 25 touches and this will improve over time.

Would like to see him get on the outside a bit more and use that pace to eat up the metres before kicking but overall a great pick up and reminds me of another former Nth Knight in T Cotchin.

"In one foul swoop, the Blues added significant depth and quality in all areas of the ground: and that was just with two picks."

"......one foul swoop........
"...........who writes this stuff?

I bet you were chomping at the bit to point that out....

I guess you could care less, otherwise you would be looking to extract revenge...

Sos final address will be something like this ...

Shows the value of composure when things aren't going one's way. SOS is very good at it.
SOS and his team must have gone through a huge amount of scenario's before last night. It really showed how managed to keep his cool after the players he wanted initially were gone.

I don't think a lot could have done what he did, if not for being confident of knowing what's going to unfold thereafter.

I guess having done the research stands for plenty and then being able to sit it out until thee picks come around.

Didn't SOS look happy with himself when the name Kemp dropped?
Hey Harks have you seen that article on NFL draft trading that SOSforPM posted earlier a great read and shows just how shrewd and ahead of the game our man SOS is, if not have a look well worth it.

Yes but in September when cripps gets the hard ball who does he give it to, to spread from the stoppage? Robertson, Setterfield, Kemp? Let's say Martin or SPS are injured on Grand final day and Murphy retires. I am not sure Robertson wins you a final. Yes he gets you there but on the big day picture the burst players: Johnston, Harmes, Glascott Mcleoud, Borgoyne. Philp is that type of player
And Fisher, LOB and Walsh are all hurt and Newnes doesn't come up and Docherty does his knee again and Williamson's back blows out again and Stocker doesn't turn into a player and Cuningham never gets his body right and Dow can't get his kicking sorted - we will really be in trouble.

I was so pumped last night that I couldn't sleep. Way too much adrenaline. Will be very sad to lose SOS.

I too was pumped last night.

Don’t know much about Philp but would have loved Dylan Williams with the pick. I was thinking that’s who we would have targeted
He's injured right?
If so, you cant really draft two injured players - that's way too much risks
I'm happy with Philp

For all intensive purposes, you are correct.

IIRC there is no live trading tonight as all of the deals for the rest of the draft are to be settled before the draft (4pm-6pm).
Don't think that's right. They're just allowing an early session to make sure there isn't a glut of processing at the start of the night.

At the end of the day, many clubs wont trade up unless their guy is still on the board.
