So many positives that have rightly already been raised here. One aspect that I really enjoyed was a return to the team piling on goals in quick succession. In the first and the third quarters, we banged on four unanswered goals in next to no time. That took me back to our best footy in 2022, when we cracked teams open with some irrepressible bursts.

Lots to like about the games of plenty of individuals, of course. But a return to the ability to pile on some rapid scoreboard pressure was a massive highlight of the night for me.

It was like they forgot poor Knevitt was there

I'm pretty sure they get the match payment around 4k for that role.
So at least he was elevated through serendipity more than anything, Shaun was definitely starting sub.
Probably disappointing in one sense for the kid, but he has huge assurances, time on his side,
and extra grocery money.

Good strong win. Somewhat unexpected with the late outs and some youth playing different roles.

Only dampener is I understand at least 2 outs from tonight maybe 3. Danger is out for a “little while” and I have no idea who else. Not sure if it was obvious on tv?

And FF points! And a win on resume. All good.

Going to try to play VFL tomorrow apparently. If feel ok tomorrow

Out that easily? Duncan and Atkins back in, but Mullin, Knevitt ?

Its more structure. I dont think you can play all of bruhn atkins clark and parfitt in the same side. All are inside mids with no clear 2nd position (except back in atkins case but i doubt it happens).

Atkins wont go out and bruhn is best 22 now which means parfitt probably doesnt play if clark does-and clark is clearly a player they want to prioritise.

Knevitt and mullin will go out for bruhn and atkins (mannagh needs to stay in now) but i dont think that keeps parfitt in. He improves his chances if he keeps playing well though.

How's about some credit to Chris Scott and Co.? In fact the whole management team at Kardinia Park. They've kept us up for a long time and by the looks of it that cliff is rapidly receding :D

Stanley seemed to spend a bit time in the rooms in the first quarter & again extended time on the bench in the third

If you have made it this far in your Geelong supporting life and you don’t marvel at Chris Scott, well… I’m sorry for your loss.

Duncan in Tuohy out? 10 day recovery. But if Danger is also out...?

Basically this is what I thought.

He done ok (still don’t want him kicking it).

There’s just not a slot for him unless two or three inside mids are out.

But efforts like tonight will help keep him on an AFL list.

100 % whether we play him or not if he plays that well at afl or vfl all year and some club will give him a contract as FA.

I think there is a bit of last in first out in these things - subject to roles. Even with roles they are I suppose trying to be flexible. Dempsey played nearly all wing today and that wasn’t planned until Mannagh came in to 22. Within reason they will move some around but I agree that it is likely Parf/Mullin are looked out as outs.

Having said that with Danger injury and maybe another (I don’t know who) and Bruhn/Atkins not 100% of being ready for next round then the squad mentality needs to be alive and well - which is certainly was tonight

I really want him to stay with us- love the way he goes about it, chin up despite all the setbacks.

I guess we can thank atkins injury for saving us from bad decision making then as shaun impacts too much to be sub.

He had his left hand in ice after game - but that might be normal? I can’t pick who else and I might be wrong anyway

At 3/4 time, as per the AFL app, Kolodjashnij had spent 16(?) mins on pine & Stanley 18(?) or the other way

But that stood out to be a bit for two players to spend that long on the bench in the same quarter & not the last quarter when you've run out of interchanges

They mentioned Hawkins was wincing in pain at times, but his 350th v Hawks would be lovely (if we win it), as long as he is up for it.

I dont think he fits the best 22-cant squueze him in the mids structurally, cant play small back (pity as we need one) bc his kicking is too poor and our fwd line has too much competition for spots.
But i love him culturally hes a hard worker and a great example of a human being.
If he was happy to hang around as a depth player on the list to play vfl i think our young kids would benefit a lot from him.
But i suspect that a bottom club will offer him a better FA deal.

Think Stanley was a bit injured too but played out the game.
