Guys I have a confession to make. When I filled out my postseason survey, I said I wanted a better deal as an interstate member... I didn't think they'd go all out and give us interstate fans THIS many games! :D

There's something of a click bait article looking at hub life from the WAG side of things; while I'm not going to get into the whole thing & choosing to ignore most of it, this was positive to read:

Geelong WAGs, many with young children, are considered the most well-behaved and are low maintenance, with regular group pilates sessions to kick off the mornings.

If anyone really is interested in reading the rest of it - have at it here, https://www.heraldsun.com.au/entert...d/news-story/c116379e8fae61ca6d811b361be1653a

it is just so surprising that people can be actually polite and non-entitled.

it's like when the locals here get seriously upset and violent when a flight gets delayed or canceled because a typhoon is passing over the airport and it would be too dangerous to fly. you can only shake you head when you see how people behave. [grumble, grumble] "Git off my lawn yah little rascals!"[grumble, grumble]

My last trip to America included like 21 (maybes more)!flights between when I left Melbourne & returned home - with the bulk of my trip taking place in Alaska, Washington State, Oregon, British Columbia, Vancouver Island & Alberta; and this holiday took place over December & January, so middle of their winter

While in Alaska, over the new year period, I had 3 consecutive flights cancelled - not just delayed but actually cancelled & scheduled onto new flights. In all my years of traveling, including that being my 4th solo trip through North America, that's the closest I've ever been to breaking while on holiday & just wanting to come home

I then had at least 3 other flights delayed - including departing & returning to Sydney

The main reason for my flight issues while over there - the weather, and ice storms etc. It was frustrating but no point taking things out on staff or others as it's out of their control

I definitely learnt resilience on that trip

Awwwwwwwwwww....

This is fantastic. Footy is great, but family is everything.

Really hope this brings the boys plenty of joy. And a spring in their step for the games that lie ahead as well.

Let's settle in for the long haul up here until we can carry the cup home...

Just so happens Richmond are coming off the bye against us, while we have a 5 day break...

I honestly don't think it's a massive deal. Our "bye" gives us a 9 day break. I don't think the shortened weeks disadvantage us because playing games every 4 to 5 days is just as beneficial as doing a skills session.

Just mentioned it as some people are suggesting us coming off a 4 day break while Port are coming off a 6 day break tonight could give them an advantage, but the advantage would be more pronounced if it was 5 days as opposed to 9.

Having said that though, Essendon are at a similar disadvantage against us when we play them.

It's definitely a factor to consider, but I don't see it being the difference.

West Coast supporters complaining after having to front up against GWS in Brisbane on a Thursday night after playing in a late game the previous Sunday like they're the first team who have had to make that trip across the country just to front up again in 4 days time...

They also have the Eagles on the Gold Coast four days after the Eagles play GWS in Perth, while the Tigers have an extra day's break coming back from Darwin.

Seems the best spot for this

Stewart has been joined in the Cats' Gold Coast hub with his pregnant wife, Emma, who is due to give birth in early November...

..."She's due in early November, she's been amazing, she's an amazing support person and I can't thank her enough for allowing me to be up here doing what I love.

"We're going to keep each other strong, keep each other positive. If all goes well, we'll be playing finals footy and that's what we're here for.

"I think we'll be staying up here. There's a lot going on with the world and I think we're leaning towards staying up here."

Day/time and venue for round 18 vs Swans announced

Sydney vs Geelong - Sunday September 20, 3.35pm @ Metricon Stadium

Can’t complain about that 9 day break after this week and least we don’t have to fly to Cairns where Swans have been based for there last couple of “home games”

So ahead of the finals there's been another change to our hub situation - the team is staying in their resort, but the families are (have) moved out

Guess it means bit more of a return to the situation from earlier in Qld & before the families arrived, but they are still within closer proximity than when they were back in Vic
