Although resting is a smart idea, we still need to win this game. Thus, I would urge on the side of caution rather than the mentality of "it's just the Western Bulldogs...it will be an easy win".

Great game to keep Sinclair in since the Doggies have a great forward line. We'd struggle without his tackling pressure this game.

If broom plays maybe we are building to 2014.

I have no problem with getting plenty of games into broom and ben ken, gonna be stars

Why do you say that? Oxley coming in last week would be more surprising than Broomhead this week

Well he was not Raised from Rookie List and Oxley was Originally an a emergency

IMO they're the easiest to tag. The reason you just don't see it as often is because taggers just automatically go to the stars instead of the essential cogs in the chain.

Cameron Ling was the master at using his body to influence the player being tagged and the problem with getting so close to packs is that it's very easy to overcommit to the contest. Nudging a player under the ball while the ruckman are competing is so easy in today's game and a lot easier against Ball than Swan or Pendles.

He doesn't win a heap of the ball on the outside so if you take away his effectiveness on the inside it practically halves the ball that he wins (when combining outside with inside) and all of a sudden both Pendles and Swan become less effective.

Basically it's easier to tag players that only get the ball one way, while players who win it inside and out (Griffen being one of those) are harder to tag. Then of course there's players like Jobe who basically only win it inside, but is a dangerous option inside 50 with his height and size if tagged.

I completely disagree with the rising tide of discontent against Blair - the guy is super competitive, he is one of only four at the club with more than 4 tackles per game - against a fairly strong Doggies on ball rotation we would appear rather limp wristed without his services!

Make no mistake it isnt by chance that Sydney and Freo are top four contenders, whilst leading the way in tackles! We dont have the foot skills of the likes of Geelong and Hawthorn so our way to the top must be through hard work.

Blair - not only is he strong around the contests he has an eye for a goal - 9 to date puts him 5th at the club with Dwyer.

So i'm reading that people want to drop our 2nd best tackler and 5th best offensive weapon? Not only that he finds the ball 17 times per game that ranks him 10th.

I just dont get why we would drop a bloke with these numbers - not at all!

can someone here please explain why a slight dip in form over the last two weeks equals being dropped? Who will replace his effort?
Nice to see I'm not the only one scratching his head and wondering where the hell all of the imp-hate comes from. Whilst you wouldn't suggest for a minute that Blair's form was the best of his career, as far as I am concerned he would be one of the first players picked each week for the pressure he puts on both in terms of tackling and scoreboard effect. Thanks for bringing some perspective.

I think blair would be one of the last picked as we have plenty of depth in his area and he his output has been on average modest.

Once we get 5-6 of our injured best 22 back it will be very hard for blair to keep a place

Totally disagree but you and a host of others are entitled to your opinions. He may well wind up having a spell at some point to regain form but frankly I reckon that would handicap the team big time. I stand by my suggestion that he would be one of the first picked.
