Thought Logue showed a level of competitive intent and urgency when he was moved forward (changing with Goldy) we haven't seen this year. Not a popular view - people want him settled back which is understandable - but we've been so uncompetitive at centre half forward. Even last night late in Q2, we were actually around even with Melbourne for inside 50s but 9 + goals down.

I liked your Ford to full forward, and Free getting a game may just give us the folkhero we need ...... but I am pretty sure that Free would find Spicer hiding behind him waiting for the non contested ball rather than being unleashed.

We probably need to play Free otherwise one of Logue, Larkey or Mckay will need to play backup ruck. Unless we pinch hit with Greenwood.

Other options:
Lazzaro to see if he can provide a bit of run and carry through the middle.
Wardlaw is the obvious one, but I’m happy for them to decide when he’s ready.

Thinking about who has contributed positively this year - Greenwood role in round 1, he can fulfil a role. Bergman looked like he had a bit to work with. Phillips has played a good game.

In: Ford, Bergman, Phillips, LDU, Drury, Greenwood

B: Corr, McKay, Ziebell
HB: McDonald, Logue, Sheezel
C: Scott, Phillips, Taylor
HF: Zurhaar, Greenwood, Ford
F: Drury, Larkey, Curtis
Foll: Goldstein, LDU, Simpkin
Bench: Shiels, Stephenson, Cunnington, Bergman
Sub: Tucker

Phillips brought in to play a defensive role. Gets 12 weeks in that role to get consistency and learn while being a center square defending mid against likes of Steele, Wines, Parker etc. Not a tagger, but a structurally defensive player.

McDonald, Tucker, Corr all thin ice but one step at a time. If I hadn’t already put Bonar in the bin then Corr wouldn’t be playing but he is definitely better than Bonar is and will be.

Need to start playing around with forward line. Get Ford, Curtis & Drury in as hopefully hungry young players.

Like others, in Clarko we trust, but the one genuine puzzle I have about selection is Greenwood (yeah, yeah, I know about Turner, but it's only in the last 2 weeks that Drury has presented as a viable option). Back on topic, you might not want Greenwood and Cunners at the same CBA, but it doesn't mean they can't be rotating, esp. with LDU out. I don't get it

Or putting Greenwood into a makeshift role which he’s done throughout his career - 2nd ruck, 3rd tall, inside mid etc
