If we learnt anything today, NO COX NEEDED. We would have won today if Moore played all day. We almost had a Richmond about us. Our forwards were agile and willing to tackle.

We play Cox and we go backwards. We have to play Mclarty. I wouldn’t even play Reid, and if I did, it would be in the backline as a KPD.

Out: Moore and Broomhead
In: Mclarty and Fasolo
I love this post.
Yes!

Worked well against Melbourne three games ago.
Because Melbourne are pathetic chokers.
They needed to win to make finals, that’s why we beat them.
.... they had Geelong on their knees and couldn’t finish them off and nearly coughed up a 40 point lead against the Brions.

The sad reality is we can't bring in anybody that on paper will have a more positive impact than any player that played yesterday.

May as well be pumping games into McLarty, Mihocek and any other young talls but our ******* inept coach and assistant coaches are in survival mode.

If only these clowns would step aside, play the kids to get the team back on track rather than remaining stagnant for another year to protect their own skin.
Yes

Barring no injuries we should have our best 22 for the Anzac game

Swans were 0-6 and the obituary was read in 2017. Teams can bounce back and seasons can change quickly, just a bit of luck and we’ll be ok

Love to to see Mihocek, McLarty, Daicos & Sier get games under their belts

Seriously?...
Who’s our “Buddy”... we’d kill for a freakin Tippett.
Love your optimism.

I can’t believe that you guys would contemplate Cox being recalled.
Clearly I watch a different game?
Against the Hawks he registered ZERO marks. That is an embarrassment for an ex-basketballer. That is what basketballers DO. They BOX OUT, JUMP up and CATCH!!!! For Chrissake!!! If I had hair I would tear it out!
Not only can he NOT CATCH, he is a wimp and gets out-bodied by short people. He is slow and generally gets in the way.
If you look up “bag of di&ks” in the dictionary, you will find his picture.
ANYBODY CAN RUCK. Pendles was rucking against GWS!
We need to select ANY 6’4 KPP available that can occasionally jump and tap the ball.
Never ever Cox!

Is this "McLarty IN" just the latest wishful thinking? Like the constant "Kirby IN" posts last year - he played, he was clearly not ready. Good player, great potential, not ready...

I have not seen McLarty play so maybe he is THE ANSWER, but I would rather we gave Cox a proper run after his nightmare Round 1 - he looked good at times in the JLT and now we need to see if he can build some confidence or if it will jus not happen for him. Club has invested a lot in him up to now, got to follow through.

We all want Daicos, Kirby, Sier, McLarty to be superstars because they are ours and what we have at the moment is a little uninspiring, but they are what they are and wishing won't make any difference
No ones saying McLarty is the answer.. He's simply putting some good form together. Same as Sier.

Pies play better with a more mobile forward line absolutely shocked, who would have thought that's possible with a game plan that revolves around pressure.

I reckon this is how we have to go. A tall, two medium talls and two smalls.

I'd be inclined to have Reid, Dunn, Langdon, Scharenberg, Maynard, Murray and Crisp back. Forward with Moore, Howe, Hoskin-Elliot, Elliot, Varcoe.

Problem is that Bucks already signalled Cox’s return for round three straight after his suspension was made.

It’s not a change I’d make rather I suspect the club will recall Blair given he sat out the second half of the VFL game. Barring an injury Brown seems the next player on the fringes.

If it comes to fruition vent loudly at the club, just don’t shoot someone basing a selection guess on available info.

Rubber bullets.

Honest...

Out: Brown, Broomhead, Moore, Crocker
In: Wills, McLarty/Reid, Fasolo, Daicos

Wills: Big unit, great tackler. Put him on Crips and see how he does in a lock down roll.
McLarty: Ideally we wouldn't be playing him yet but he has better football nous and offers more mobility/flexibility than Cox
Daicos: Need more 1 touch players in the forward line even if they don't accumulate. Crocker doesn't offer enough IMO.

First play the cheats, then play the kids.
dont agree with brown and lagdon thought both showed enough mate to keep there place, agree with you with varcoe.
like
Yeah it’s a bit weird but it was all smoke and mirrors in the end. Mayne was injured, Reid was injured and Treloar barely trained in the week he was in the paper claiming he’s working his ar$e off improving his kicking.

All utter crap including no club news for pushing Moore forward. They didn’t want GWS to pick a smaller faster team as they were too tall down back with Tomlinson, Corr, Davis, Haynes and Finlayson. We also had too many forwards filling the space blocking low fast leads.

Reid reported to have a hip injury. He doesn’t have a history of coming back after 1 week. Unless it was a flu or gastro related hip injury I can’t see Reid coming back in a hurry. See if he makes training this week???

Thomas bobbed up to get his goal a game. As much as he is a list clogger we haven’t got many players kicking a goal a game.

Besides Grundy I thought Shaz had a good game, probably best senior game I’ve seen.

If Varcoe doesn’t go with SPS he could play a defensive fwd role on Simpson. We really need to quell his influence from half back.

you make some fair points mate, i also think our selections should be based on what is best for collingwood not whats best for buckleys coaching career and long term survival.
Mcalty list spot is safe i would guess for this season and the next, same as daicos and brown.
However players like wills and sier at least deserve a chance to prove there worth, you would think both would be on there last legs.
So why not
out thomas varcoe crocker moore broomhead
in wills sier mcalty cox fassolo

that would be taking in to account reid to miss another week. Thomas might kick a goal a week but he butchers the ball way way to much for me.

I would bring McLarty in, but Buckley has already indicated Cox will return.

I dare say that's the problem. Look at his hand placement, it's like he's trying to shoot a basketball. At a guess it's a habit carried over from basketball, catching the ball that way would allow for a quicker release.
