AJ has kicked six goals over past fortnight. Only Elliott has scored more. Can’t see us dropping him on that form.

To advocate for the devil, those six have been in the absence of Mihocek. But I will admit he does have renewed confidence.

.
I know Johnson scored three today but is he really that influential? Checkers plays instead of him, I don't think Cox leaves. If you drop Frampton and Cox, we have only Cameron as a recognised ruck. McStay is needed to take marks, body and aid in structure, not play second ruck.
McStay would only have to pinch hit for ~15% while Mihocek and Johnson hold forward structure. It’s really not hard to understand.

Don’t think we’re going to manage anyone against Port

Just trying to find a way how we add in checkers and DC while maintaining the preferred structure— whatever it is.

I agree with you Jen, it’s not personal against anyone but DC and Checkers are clearly walk up starters when fit so two will come out - it’s stiff on anyone who loses their spot in this team.

No idea. Probably Mihocek for Frampton. How do we find a spot for Cameron? Maybe for Lipinski if we want to play taller?

Good problem to have

Thought McCreery did SFA today but I know Fly loves him

Frampton needs to go back and Cameron comes back to ruck

Out AJ ( not sure like him ) McCreery

In Checkers Cameron
Anyone playing the small forward role is going to have quiet games. As long as he and others continue to do the basics- chase hard and apply enormous tackling pressure and halving every contest at a minimum they will continue to be selected. You know he will have a blinder at some stage and perhaps even win us a game in September with a chase down, huge tackle or running goal.

Lippy would be on shaky ground after today, hasn’t really done a whole lot since he has been back….having said that I doubt he gets dropped for the port game

Disagree he has lost his primer mover role to the Daicos boys and Jordy. He is always in the right spot when you need him.

Will be tough to make any changes following that performance. Adams was stretching his hamstrings repeatedly. Perhaps a candidate to rest, we can’t afford to lose him again.

Maynard was carrying that right shoulder hopefully not structurally weak and potentially some floating cartilage or something. Might be candidate for a longer spell.

I really don’t get this argument. As a forward, isn’t Johnson’s No1 job to kick goals? Surely he has no other duty that come close to that of hitting the scoreboard? On that measure, he has been very influential over the past two games, with three in each. Has McCreery been influential? Has Lipinski?

Agree i say rest hill in ginnivan or Harrison

Frampton stiff bit out for miocheck

If Ginni doesn't kick at least 4 goals a game in the VFL (which he should be miles ahead in) he shouldn't be seen for the rest of the year

I love Beau but he looks horribly low on confidence and form currently. Not sure if has a niggle?
Would have to be under pressure to retain spot

No vfl this week
And being a forward in the VFL is a tough caper, given the ball movement is not ideal. But I doubt that's what the coaches will be looking for, as know he can kick goals... but upon playing a new position, its the other stuff he is focused on. Impacting the game apart from goals, so that's his focus right now.

Valid points. It's going to be interesting to see if he can convert with Mihocek. If he can, he plays.

McCreery has been quiet and so has Lipinski. Both are vulnerable to the return of WHE now that Markov is a best 23 player.

Maybe we manage cox?

I agree. I like Cox and I believe he offers more than DC. However, the last few weeks he has been poor. He has missed goals he would normally gobble up. When forward he has been pushed out/ manouvered or led under the ball. His ruck work has also been poor with him regularly jumping early. With the height in PAs side with Dixon coming back I feel Frampton will play. Mihocek will be back.
