Hasn't been performing poorly, he's still kicking goals. He was unlucky to be dropped (30 mins before the game) in the first place

He's a guy that plays better with better players around him, similar to AJ. AJ had a poor performance against Frankston and has shown he belongs at the level.

Why not give him an opportunity before finals and see what he can do? He has the potential to be an important player for us come finals
14 disposals. 2 goals, 4 tackles, was pretty good for a small forward at vfl level last week. He's growing into his new role.

His lack of pace, inability to stick tackles and poor defensive game generally are not traits that improve, with better players around him.

Let’s see goals and at least 5 I50 tackles in successive games in the VFL and then he’s got a chance.
Macrae is breaking the door down and still can’t get a game, so why reward Ginnivan.

Kane Cornes said alot of the Port boys are playing sore, hence the managing of so many of their first 22, but l don't think just the one week off will refresh them that much. Horne-Francis is apparently doubtful for next week, and Byrne-Jones will be out for them with concussion.
If we play our gamestyle well, l think we can run them ragged, like we did in round 2....

Frampton and McCreery out for Mihocek and Cameron.

Markov sub

Lipinski wasn’t flash today but he still has a role to play and I think he will offer more in big games than McCreery

B: Brayden Maynard - Darcy Moore - Nathan Murphy
HB: Isaac Quaynor - Jeremy Howe - John Noble
C: Josh Daicos - Scott Pendlebury - Steele Sidebottom
HF: Taylor Adams - Brody Mihocek - Bobby Hill
F: Jamie Elliott - Dan McStay - Ash Johnson
R: Darcy Cameron - Jordan De Goey - Nick Daicos
I: Jack Crisp - Tom Mitchell - Patrick Lipinski - Mason Cox
Sub: Oleg Markov

Carryovers: Beau McCreery, Billy Frampton
I don’t think we’ll get this team but I like it.

Lippa did have 9 tackles, and decent pressure acts.
He plays a role that doesn't always stand out, but Fly appreciates how he contributes, so don't think he'll go anywhere.
Would love to see how they classify tackles because Lipinski didn't lay one genuine play-stopping tackle all game that I can remember. Like, seriously, can anyone name a point in the game where Lipinski laid a decent tackle as reference? He did continually run in as second or third man to bring a ball carrier to ground though.

Side-note, but what else does Fly appreciate, Jen? Want to know what to get him for his birthday next year.

I'll pose the question and get back to you for gift ideas.

He laid a really good one in the third quarter that should've been rewarded.

Anyway, Lippa will stay in the 23, and likely the 22. He's not hit his pre-injury form just yet but is still playing reasonably well and I'd back him in.

Remember when he said Pies should have rested 10 players against Eagles? I really hope Port's cockiness backfires on them & they struggle to find their mojo again after today's miserable effort.

So not play McStay and Miocheck together which been the Plan
Plans change. If all of Cox, Cameron, Mihocek, McStay, Frampton and Johnson are available next week 2 need to miss out unless we drop someone like Lippa. Cameron and Mihocek are certainties and Frampton the obvious out. That means 1 of Cox, McStay or Johnson need to go. Cox is the best back up ruck and Johnson has potential and a point of difference that gets him ahead of McStay currently for mine. His mobility is a great foil to the other bigs.

If we drop a small like Lippa we become too big.

Its fine to say you wouldn't drop Dan if Cameron and Miho are available but tell which of the others comes out.

I think Fly would be keen to see Checkers & McStay in the forward line together. Sooner rather than later.
