Seriously though - he should not be anywhere near senior level

I agree he hasn’t been too terrific but a bit of slack is sure to be due. Coming on as a sub is such a perceived advantage where players should have fresh legs and ultimately play better than everyone else on the ground, but it’s also gotta be one of the most difficult things to come onto the field mid way through a game and be expected to adapt immediately- in his first game at a new club and for the season. i agree he was awful in perth and average at best overall on the weekend, but he also did some good things in the 3rd qtr which was when we ultimately got ourselves back into the game. Give him another chance and if he’s not up to it banish him to the 2s.

One thing in our favour is that Smitchell would've put extra effort into hoodwinking Clarko. They might've both downplayed the personal element but we all saw the look on Smitchell's face post siren.

The Blues won't throw curve balls like that at us. They'll likely still win, just through sheer quality, and they definitely will if Logue is out, but there are less coaching-related booby traps in this one, and that gives me a degree of comfort

Clarko set up a zone defence to combat Hawthorn's previously fast corridor attacking approach. But Mitchell clearly told his troops to move the ball slowly around the wings, chipping it around and proritising accuracy rather than speed. It was a curve ball. And he won't be able to pull it off again for as long as he did

Howe got a vote in the HUN’s 3-2-1 which was a bit of a surprise. Decent player/solid citizen type that’s probably custom made to become a new whipping boy.
