I've no issue with just the 1 forced change this week but I found the Comben / Marvel comment a little odd.

Why cite the reason he won't play as our home ground where we play half of our games most years?

I think it was just his way of saying he’d be playing ressies not seniors. Don’t think it had anything to do with Marvel specifically.

Horace, you appear to have an old fashioned notion of a "supporter" as one who supports their players. Many around here seem to think the players owe them something so they have the right to throw crap at them if they aren't meeting expectations. People also jump to label a player a lazy if they have pericarditis, for example, or are carrying an injury without knowing any of the background. Oops, there I go "accepting mediocrity" again.

Real simple. Xerri had a great pre-season and is performing. Goldie performed last week and has runs on the board. CCJ didn't bang the door down. He will need to if he wants to earn his place.

Goldie has the endurance to allow him to stay on the ground when he's not rucking. Plus we now have ziebell and zurhaar up forward. Having both + a resting ruck is enough support for larkey. Anything more leaves us vulnerable when the ball hits the deck.

His inclusion helps JZ play forward and his attributes probably aid the balance of the back 6 more than Jack's did. I didn't think he was that good over the course of the game either, but I don't want us to be churning through young players by just giving them a single game and then throwing them back to the reserves if they don't perform well right away. Generally, I think that unless they are abhorrent, which IMO he wasn't, then give them a run of 2-3 games to get into the rhythm and then see if someone in the VFL is staking a claim for their spot.

Why don’t you approach Noble and tell him what the team should be , based on your knowledge.
Obviously the people in the positions to select the team are duds. I’m sure north could use you expert opinion.
