Misses the point though that can't tell yet, because we don't know which players will make it or not... & we have a higher percentage of younger players than others sides... so not possible know.
Does it miss the point though? Surely the likes of Fogarty, Himmleberg, Jones and McHenry have had enough time now to produce, and basically have been found wanting?

I want to see Thilthorpe back in ASAP.

What I would like to also see is a pagan's paddock type set up happen during games where we isolate Thilthorpe 1 out deep in the forward line and then look to slingshot the ball in there from an opposition turnover in our back half before help can arrive. Let him go 1 out with his man. It would show him we have absolute confidence in him, AND I am thinking it would throw some doubts into the defender's mind due to his size and mobility

So what we did with Jenkins even though everyone here hates him now?

The jury is still out on many of these.

We don't know yet about most of the crop from the last 2 years.

a freeloader?..

what the fu**?..

you made a bet with CTID and lost fair and square and then instead of paying up you slinked off into the wilderness only to return a year later pretending the bet never happenend.

nothing more underhanded than that shit..
Brainwashed by the freeloader.
Sad.

Expected more from you BC.

Think we will have to agree to disagree. 2020 and 2021 drafts look ok, and will. produce I think 1 elite (JR), 1 very good (RT) and a couple of handy, B type players (Pedlar, Schoenberg). Everything before it has been a mess.

We would have at least 10 players on our list you could not make a call on either way.

Himmelberg was starting to look OK but has really slipped now.

FOG, well good luck trying to be effective as a forward when the last 5 years has been bomb it long. When you look at the team with good midfield they hit the leading player on the tit. Almost all of Hawkins shits on goal are from a good kick to a lead. Not above his head but out in front of his eyes.

Jones and McHenry we're under the Godden factory, how to kill talent. Was horrible in the SANFL, put in at HB and looked alright.

We just don't ry our players in their positions long enough. Crouch and Laird are in the centre every game but we know they will extract it and dish off within 10 meters, gaining very little. If we tried to cycle more players through we could find out more about McHenry, Jones, Pedlar, Berry, Rachele, Dawson, Hinge and even FOG as midfielders

Maybe Port are incompetent too. Only guns should be given long deals.

Peak Rory would have been worth 5 years but it was 2 years too long given the footy he was producing when he re-signed. The club was in the doldrums and clearly reaching for that good news story.

How ROB can get 4 years is beyond me. He's only had one good season and it was when the club as a whole was at a low point and well below AFL standard. He's such a limited player. The game has moved past the slow, lumbering giant with poor skills who can tap and do sfa else. Shit we can't even rely on ROB to win taps if we're being honest. He's lost the hitouts in both games so far this year. These days the best rucks are mobile and can execute their kicks. Our club seems to be absolutely woeful at identifying trends. We're medieval.
Peak Rory was worth 5 years? So we sign him 1 year earlier and he's worth it but not in year 2?

Huh?

Because his form started to wane in 2018, missed a chunk of footy through injury and opposition teams figured out a hard tag could nullify him. The signs that he had peaked as a footballer were there, the club just chose to ignore them.

Sloane played the club like a fiddle in 2018.

People don’t remember this, but his contract situation followed the same trajectory as Dangerfield, Lever et al. He was talking the same way those guys were.

And then, out of the clear blue sky, he signed.

And boy, did he sign. Five seasons, the first of which would start at 29 years old, netting a total well north of $4 million.

You can hardly blame him. That was the bargaining position the club was in back in 2018.

No hand whatsoever.

St Kilda were super keen on Sloane at the time, would’ve handed over pick 4 as Rory wasn’t a free agent.

So our pick of the King twins or Rozee.

Probably still would’ve picked Jones I guess.

the problem isn’t just that he would have obviously accepted the winnings had it gone the other way; he thinks only an idiot would actually pay up on a bet.

It’s not the “not paying” that’s the issue, but that he thinks you’d be crazy to expect that anyone would
