We did play him and he was woeful and not much better in the SANFL. Maybe now he's apparently got his body right he will kikely get his opportunity if he knocks the SANFL door down.

I'm talking about this season, what has a selection of Lynch in the past got to do with 2022?

Well this season we have had:

• Milera in for one game then out
• TT in for one game then out
• Pedlar in for one game then out
• Soligo nor sure what they are doing here (they probably don't either)
• Himmelberg playing all 3 games.
• Frampton now in (& the Berg) whilst TT still out.

Not bad for only 3 games in!

And this is just the selection blunders, we haven't addressed the game plan and what position the players are playing.

Glad you believe this type of selection policy is good for developing our next generation. I'm the type that would prefer to see the youngsters come in for a block of games in the position they best fit/were recruited for - not shoe horned into a forward pocket for reasons.

It is very over the top, we are still playing the most youth in the competition and have the least experienced side, the club is still clearly rebuilding. Collingwood had 1000 more games experience than us last week. Not playing RT and Pedlar for a week or two early in 2022 will make zero difference to whether the rebuild is successful or not.

If I had a dollar for every time this type of statement was uttered on this board over the last 10 years I could have retired.

Every Thursday night as our crack coaching team make the correct selection calls:
"MacKay won't be the difference in winning or losing this week, playing Player X in his place would make no difference"

And then these same people wonder why our youth are so inexperienced.

Its like our flawed selection policy over the years have no bearing on why a lot of our players haven't played more games.

I remember watching him last year in his first game as a defender. He wasn't perfect but it was a reasonable debut down back.

Since then he's had six months to concentrate on his new position. I'm very interested to see how he goes.

If Billy can become a decent CHB, there's going to be plenty of yolk dripping faces in here... including mine
Let's hope he has a great game tonight along with his 21 mates.

I've lost count the number of times a poster has said that on this board over the last couple of years, when we all know deep down you want us to win. Do you really think winning a match against a potential top 4 side with 14 sub-50 gamers is setting back the rebuild? Is the easiest way to farm likes on this board to post over the top negative statements?

Particularly given the number of sub-50 games, and the average age of our team. Despite the changes including 'experienced' players, we are still one of the most inexperienced teams in the AFL.
