Rutten won't be coaching as he is in isolation, Blake Caracella will coach Essendon instead.

Unsure if this is good for us or not

Fog does f*** all without the ball which means he needs to have it on a string or he’s a net negative

And yes pressure does count for alot or you concede goals from your own F50 and kick less yourself

Re Fog - He didn’t even kick it well in showdown and that was his last remaining trait

If anyone here wants to still back up Fog on his current ( and career performances other than a handful ) then you really don’t know much about football

Do agree Jones is horribly out of form again . Hamill for Jones I’d be happy with this week
Love it, Fogs been terrible other than a handful of games.
Yet jones is just out of form 😆

Tex back makes me happy. The guy is the most natural Key forward on the team by a landslide. Makes us a much harder opponent

Let's hope he kicks off this year similarly to how he kicked off last year.
I hope he can ignore the hostile reception he's surely going to get.

Our game is on Sunday and the club is Confirming Tex playing on the Wednesday? What is the point in that?
...and confirming that Fog's been dropped. I thought teams came out on Thursdays.

It's what most of had been expecting though - Fog out Tex in.

Next, how do we get Berry in, and not just as sub?

Murphy, Seeds Inj

AFL - Sunday
Rowe Gollant Berry
Rachele Walker Sloane
Dawson Keays Hinge
Jones Worrell Smith
Brown Butts Doedee

O'Brien
Schoenberg
Laird

Crouch, Cook, Himmelberg, Sholl

Hamill - Sub

SANFL - Saturday

McAdam Fogarty Nankervis
Soligo Thilthorpe McHenry
Davis Hately Newchurch
Parnell Murray Milera
Frampton McAsey McPherson

Strachan
Pedlar
Taylor

Borlase, Wright, Freeman, Sharrad

Maybe on the short stuff because Murray can roost the long one alright. Billy is just too soft, where as I think one day Murray will put somebody in hospital the way he crashes the pack.
Hopefully it won't be one of our own players...he has history remember.

The position is still up for grabs because none of Frampton, Murray or McAsey have nailed it down yet.

We might even look at Centrals 2022 KPP draftee Brodie Tuck if one of them doesn't nail the spot down by season's end.

There is that. I still haven't given up on McAsey yet like many have. He was an 18yr old kid thrown to the wolves in his first year and did a couple of nice things to make me think there is something there. The ideal scenario is McAsey comes on, but until then Murray is my pick. I would take a wrecking ball over the marshmallow, hell, Billy made Marshall look good.

Ben Rutten can’t coach at the ground he’s under covid protocols, Blake Caracella to step in, is this an advantage to us? 🤨

Tex played ONE SANFL game after a 12 month break with an ACL. This time he was fit and leading the.Coleman when he was suspended, has had a full preseason and is ready to go.

If we had decided to pick FOG over Tex this week we could have lost draft picks for tanking.
What about playing Tex in the SANFL, to get him match fit, while replacing Fog with TT?

I have no firm opinion either way about bringing Tex straight back, or via the SANFL. On that front, I'm happy to go with whatever the club decides. I am a little bit wary of bringing him straight back, given that he hasn't played a game at any level this year.

Right now, there are 3x positions in the AFL team for tall forwards - and 5 candidates to fill them (Berg, Gollant, Walker, Fog, TT). Fog has made sure that he's currently 5th in line for those 3 positions.

He's had 2 SANFL games, and was (reportedly) much better last Friday.
There's only been 1 round of the SANFL.

Trial/scratch matches are hardly going to count.

If the coaching panel is fair dinkum the only way Thilthorpe plays is if there's a late out caused by Walker, Gollant or Himmelberg not coming up.

I don't think there's any chance at all that TT plays this week. I think you've missed the point I was making - probably fair enough, given that my previous post was a poorly written ramble.

Ciao Giacomo's post was full of "Tex over Fog is an easy decision". I was pondering a slightly different question - what they would/could/should have done, if they decided to bring Tex back via the SANFL (given his lack of match fitness)?

CG said that we would be done for tanking if we selected Fog ahead of Walker, and it's hard to disagree with that statement. But would we still have been candidates for tanking accusations if we'd selected TT, ahead of both Walker (gaining match fitness in the SANFL) and Fog (woefully out of form & lacking confidence)?

We could really do with a win this weekend, our next 5 games do not look pretty.

Richmond (Home)
Bulldogs (Away)
GWS (Home)
Carlton (Away)
Brisbane (Home)
Richmond the most winnable.

If that's the one that gets the club done for tanking then it's probably the last on a long list of tanking-esque selections.

Murray crashing packs is gutsy, but it borders on idiotic at times.

He will absolutely take out one of our own. He needs to learn when to do it and when not to.

Would rather Murray than Frampton, at least he has a crack and not afraid to kill a pack. the only advantage Billy has is height.
Think Billy got thrown to the wolves a little bit

He won't cop a forward the quality of Todd Marshall each week
