You are so so wrong on that.
Hamill was one of the best kicks we've ever drafted if you watched his NAB League games for the Dandenong Stingrays, unfortunately he obviously lost his confidence with his repeated concussions.

Didn't watch yesterday's SANFL game? That was the Will Hamill of old, speed, run, carry and precise kicking.
I hope you’re right. At the top level his disposal has been poor. Let’s see if he can bring his little league form up to the big league.

Great win. But its awfully alarming when we talk about outs in Jones, Fog, McHenry and Cook. Then McAsey being worst on ground in the SANFL. Thats literally our high end draft picks of recent times. Boy did we mess them up (excluding Cook). Heat needs to be on our recruiting staff. For me Tex for Fog. Think Jones needs to go. Provides nothing. Give Hamill another go.
I think there’s a fair argument that we have terrible player development as much as bad picking.

Bombers Forward Height

Perkins 188 Wright 203 Wanganeen 179

Stringer 192 Guelfi 184 Martin 192

Another strange middle height setup. Only Wanganeen would be considered a small. Lot of mediums. One tall.

We should be able to match up on them well. Doedee, Dawson, Hinge, Smith are well suited against these size players. Butts against Wright is obvious. Brown or Macpherson or Jones or Hamill or even Smith(pick one)on Wanganeen.

Dunno if Billy stays in? Perhaps he does and he can go onto Wright and release Butts onto someone like Guelfi.

Doubt it but wouldn't be a bad team if you wanted to give Borlase a go.

I would put our best defender on Stringer. So:

Butts goes to Stringer.
Frampton to Wright.
Jones to Wanganeen.
Doedee to Martin.
Brown to Guelfi
Smith to Perkins.

Is there a way to play Murphy but physically prevent him from entering the forward 50?

His shots on goal are laughable but his midfield craft looks pretty decent
Wasn't he a small defender at one point? Maybe there's a way to revisit that, especially as Brown gets on? Could then push up ground? I think he has quite a good side step & evasive ability, exactly the sort of thing that can open chains of play. Keays is also good at this however his usual method is to go backwards before forward, Murphy seems to be able to get moving quicker imo.

Could certainly try Butts on Stringer. I'm a bit worried about Stringers pace in that match up. Should be able to change it up if we need to. Doedee would be a good match pace and size wise if the match up goes bad.

I think it's Fogarty out for Tex and Cook for Berry.

Sloane comes back, and it depends whether we think he'll be best forward or back. He possibly replaces Jones if he goes back and McHenry if he goes forward.

Ins - Outs
Walker - Fogarty- has been given a decent go & now can earn his way back
McAsey - Frampton - Billy is not the answer so we may as well find out whether Fish is.
Berry - for one of our small forwards (probably McHenry - give him sanfl midfield minutes) & he should be part of midfield rotations.

Would also like Strachan in for ROB, but won't happen.

Don't rush Sloane back.

B: Brown, Butts, McAsey
HB: Smith, Doedee, Jones
C: Sholl, Keays, Dawson
HF: Rowe, Walker, Murphy
F: Gollant, Himmelberg, Rachele
R: O'Brien, Schoenberg, Laird
I: Hinge, Crouch, Cook, Berry
Sub: Davis

IMO, he's more suited to wing than defence. He can't defend one-on-one and fumbles and fluffs kicks when under pressure, even in SANFL. It's been notable in the past couple of weeks that he got fed up with this and started taking the bull by the horns and running through the centre to kick goals. That part of his kicking is fine, probably what Mutineer remembers. ;)

ROB got right on top in the last quarter. A big part of our win.
Given his workload during games, if we are smart we would rest him during the year.

Jones was ordinary, but that Fredericks goal was 100% on Keays.

Keays didn't chase Boak. So Jones left his man and sprinted across field to try and intercept Boak. Keays then didn't bother chasing Frederick either. Two poor efforts from Keays and 100% not Jones' fault.
Not like Keays either, but that was very poor from him.

Wait.what?

highlighted it as in positively?
ROB was good last night, especially the 2nd half. Our midfield won centre clearances and ROB was laying some big tackles. The major thing off with ROB this year is his contested marking, I have no idea what's happened there. For some reason regardless of their performance, ROB and Crouch have become the senior whipping boys this season with Mackay and Lynch gone and Sloane missing this week. I'll probably get no likes for this post and a tonne of replies that I'm a club apologist, don't give two shits, have at it!
