Yeah I dig what you’re saying, but I don’t actually think there’s an alternative winger outside of driz, Acres and Henry. That’s why Hughes is a stop gap. It’s a tough role - need massive tank and discipline.

Clark can play there but he’s our quarter back and doing very nicely and you don’t fix what isn’t broken.

The obvious call is Hughes for one moor week then acres in.

Chapman v Walker and Wilson is the conundrum.
I'd put Chapman in Hughes role, I think it'd work well

Yeah that’s fair.

I’m not a fan of moving pieces too much, particularly with young players coming off injury but obviously Hughes is next out and the role can be covered by various players. It can’t be forgotten that Hughes is actually pretty good - he’s a whipping boy but the team needs experience and physicality coming into finals.

Interesting to see what happens.

Perhaps coaches have Chapman in that role in 2023 or 2024, after he does one or two full pre seasons. Probably don’t want him pushing it with his developing body in only his second year.
Henry And NOD Seem to the be the future wingers with Chapman. Good future to have

Difficult selection dilemmas at the moment - though Chapman is first choice, Pearce is first choice and Acres are first choice. So really that means Hughes, Banfield and one other miss out when all 3 are back in as they're not first choice players, also I believe Switta is a first choice player - but he seems to be a way off.

Not sure who the 3rd player is to miss out is.
Wilson

So with the injury list out, I reckon we bring Acres straight back while O'Driscoll goes to Peel, so...

Out: Hughes, Banfield, Colyer
In: Chapman, Acres, Pearce

That would have us just one short of absolute best 22 (Switta). Could this be the year that the planets align for Freo? A fit list is what most premiership teams have in common...

Can’t see that.
Chapman comes in. Pearce gets a fitness test on Thursday. And that’s perhaps it. We ain’t gambling with Acres out for so long. He gets a week for Peel. This is a crucial game. Hell every week form here on in is.

You're probably right, but JL is on record saying that he would consider bringing Acres straight back (was a couple of weeks ago).

You guys are looking very strong for this one. Our only shot is fast play through the corridor and almost perfect goal kicking accuracy. Any sideways business and it’s all over. Oh and Lobb and Walters always look like Brownlow medallists against us.

Hoping for a high scoring affair, these sub 50 points matches (or sub 20 in our case) aren’t the most exciting to watch.

Hahaha. Tabs has some of the best field kicking in the team. The dude’s elite and provides an outlet on the wings and runs harder than almost anyone. If you live stats so much, maybe look a bit deeper than fingernails at them.
Yeah nah. Some of his field kicking is horrendouus and kills us with turnover. No way he should be driopped though. His marking up on the wings is excellent not to mention his forward craft.

Sydney is a damn wildcard. They beat Geelong, Richmond, Melbourne and have lost to Bulldogs, Lions, Gold Coast, Carlton and Port. We will need our A game against them as they always match well against us.

Dropping Hughes for Chappy would make our defence much faster and more attacking. We also need to improve our defence I50. We are currently ranked 9th for tackles I50 which isn't good enough.
I'm usually nervous when it comes to freo facing the swans. 2019 and 2021, Freo walked out of Perth with a narrow win.

These next 4 games will be tough. I sort of expect for freo to pull out a narrow win again

Question for peeps going to the game and who might be concession card holders- I just realised I can get a cheaper ticket because I’m a full time uni student. Do they actually check your student card when you go in? Just wondering whether I’ll have to make a dash to Murdoch uni this week and get a new student card done or if I can sneak in UNDETECTED
Always buy the cheapest seats than go sit in the expensive ones.

Difficult.

Hughes and Colyer didn't do alot.

So probably Acres and Chapman for them.

Pearce to replace Logue back and Logue replaces Banfield forward. Banfield as sub.

Rather have Henry play a full game at Peel. And Banfield is a perfect sub.

This for me too. I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday.

Banfield is really unlucky though as he played really well.

That mostly works when there is a moderate to small crowd, I suspect there'll be a large crowd this Saturday given the weather looks superb.
50000 still leaves 10000 seats.
South side centre wing 5 level just above the viewing area has had seats every game since we played at Optus except the Derby.
Btw. I have a cat 2 membership on level 1 so my 85 Yr old doesn’t have far to walk. My Sydney nephews are flying in this week and the extra tickets we just buy cheapest available.

Wilson has had a good couple of weeks, he stays IMO.

Hughes dropped after only 10 disposals and had a lot of tackles broke on him.

Banfield back to a sub. Didn’t mind his game on Saturday. Brought a bit of pressure in the forward 50 resulting in goals.

Pearce & Chapman come in.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Clark put on a wing and Chapman slots in the back 6.

you mean East side, it is west/east on the wings??
