In: Duryea
Out: Baker (injured?)

Difficult to pick our structure. I think one of Buku/Lobb/Jones/JOD should be out for balance but they’re all playing well and while Cleary is injured we don’t have any other small/mediums to bring in for them.

Baker only has a cork and Bevo said he will be fine.

Depends on how Duryea is travelling, he wasn't great the first couple of games.

Think Cleary is good to go. Forgot Baker had a corky, should be right but a long flight etc. might pay to rest him and bring Doc back. He hasn't set the world on fire though.

Even though he played well I wouldnt hate JOD making way for a different type of player up forward. But without VFL this week and a decent performance from a lot of the usual rotation players it could just only forced changes

It's a tough on because I think we are borderline on removing too much pace which is probably the biggest stand out this season, however I feel the need to squeeze Croft in. Even though he is a tall I don't think he detracts too much from the speed mantra and definetly has the Endurance.

Out: Dolan (Managed)
In: Croft

FB. Gags Jones Khamis
HB. Dale Lobb Bramble
C. Williams Libba Davidson
HF. Kennedy Naughton Croft
FF. McNeil Darcy VDM
R. English Freijah Richards
INT. Baker JOD Sanders Harmes
SUB. West

Yeah thinking no change if Baker is ok. Knowing we don't often do the same sub two weeks in a row, who would be contenders to start as sub this week? I think it could still be Dolan considering he got two weeks starting in the 22 in rounds 1 and 2, but still a chance we start someone else...

Not relevant this week but assuming no other midfield injuries what does the midfield look like on Bonts return?

Does he take freijahs minutes and Freijah back to defence?

While none (possibly Cleary) will come back into the AFL side, a bit of depth possibly back this week in Scott, Jaques and Cleary. Should promote even more competition for spots. If Baker no good he makes way for Cleary or Duryea, otherwise no change. Bramble to sub - he had a bit of a stinker Friday.

Thought this would be the game Buss debuted in his home town but cannot see that happening probably travelling emergency.

In the ready to play AFL stakes, I think Croft is well ahead of Buss. However, I think neither will play without an injury or form omission to one of our talls. We would be upsetting team balance with more talls.

Why does Dolan need to be "managed" ... or are you just using it as a euphemism for omitted?

If anything he would be underdone, having played just 20% ToG on Friday night. So for mine he plays a full game. Whether that's in the AFL or VFL is the key question. I thought he did enough in less than a quarter to warrant retaining.

That said I can't see anyone else to omit. Maybe just keep the same 23. Especially as the VFL boys had a bye.
Make Bramble sub and play Baker at HBF?

I'd want him to play a full game but not at AFL level, so managed in this case would mean the opposite to the usual. Whilst I liked his game if there is no injuries I don't want to remove anyone that was in the 22. I think it'd set him up better for the season and his career if he played a full game, I'm not a massive fan of players lining up as sub back to back especially young ones.

Fair enough I agree on just about all of that. So for me Dolan is either in the 22 or he's in the VFL.

I lean toward keeping him because he has great touch and will get better game by game. If he can start getting 12-15 disposals a game he'll definitely be earning his keep.

Not going to lose any sleep over it if they give him a few VFL games though.

Out Bramble in Doc or Cleary. Hope he can go back to the twos and recapture his form. We was really good last year but has come off the boil to start the season.

To answer the Freijah question. I think him and Bont rotate in and out of the midfield. When Bont’s in the middle Freijah moves to the back line or interchange and when Bont goes forward Freijah back into the guts etc.

God help the opposition if they both go into the middle at the same time.
