I prob go
Charlie out and Starc in
Brain bench again unfortunately
Reville and Morris starting 22

Be tempted to bring Answerth or Sharp in for some run though.
Although with Charlie out I say we need to keep Morris as a goal kicking option.

He's still trying to defend the tackle as if Cameron was just "unlucky".

He is such an unlikeable ****wit.
Cameron's own defence and Yeo's comments all point to Cameron being pulled down rather than ramming Duggans head to the ground. Which by the way, Duggans ass hits the deck first followed by his back and shoulders, then finally his head. I'm sure the head knock still hurt but he didn't land head first FFS.

Like all your points except the last one, headgear does nothing to mitigate concussion, the brain still rattles around the skull if subject to impact.

It's a false peace of mind for the player.
You'e not wrong but you're not totally right either. Some headgear, like the soft one that Brayshaw wore can help slow the movement down a fraction at the moment of impact to stop the brain rattling in the skull as severely than without.

Ralph is nasty.

What's this ' allow your opponent's head to be rammed into the ground '

Just a complete misrepresentation of what happened. He shouldn't put that sort of incriminating stuff on SM .

Obviously a mouthpiece for someone else because he keeps digging in over it with inflammatory language.
All the language around the three suspensions this weekend was disgusting IMO.
Charlie rammed/drove etc.
Same for Bedford.
Davies clattered/ran/smashed into him.

Boy oh boy wowee David King sure has changed his tune re. Charlie’s tackle. He’s finally realised his take was a truly awful one. He’s on 306 with Lewis, Riewoldt and Montagna crowing about his “confusion” over the dangerous tackle 🙄

Still think his over the top tirade played a part in Charlie getting three weeks.

Heeney "intentionally" swung and struck whats-his-face with vicious intent resulting in an horrific blood nose.

Another upstart "Interstater"

Whereas the incredibly eloquent , terribly handsome and kind hearted Patrick Dangerfield had his case thrown out by the tribunal 'cos he magnanimously showed sufficient duty of care. Apparently

President of the AFLPA and pinup boy for a big Vic club a total coincidence

Do find it funny that coaches are going to urge the AFL to change the MRO grading after the balance review now that fans, players/AFLPA, coaches, and the media are speaking about it after the Bedford/Cameron suspensions, meanwhile Dillon is saying it's fine lol

You can tell the muck rakers who use the extra emotive language and get way too excited by the drama. They totally get off on the drama and outrage more than they care about the sport

Sickening isn’t it.

Will post it when it gets up that panel discussion on 360 and also Will Schofield in AFL Tonight who had an exceptional take on how wrong the AFL is.

Sorry to intrude, i too wanted to reiterate the Charlie suspension is ridiculous. No idea what he is supposed to realistically do. Somehow plant his feet and bend his spine backwards and do a reverse handstand apparently?

Swans also don’t have a great match up for him, criminal if he misses.

averaging some 600 tackles per Rugby League game, what would you do then? they have no issue and numerous concussions have players in head gear, but the game goes on.

I know this is callous but AFL is a contact sport and accidents will happen. No one wants to see people hurt or concussed. But as Dunks said you understand that that is a possibility whenever you take to the field.

The idea that you can retrospectively blame the AFL (or others) 100% for injuries while playing the game will ultimately be tested in court... and no doubt there was a period of time where the game had either a negligent or deliberate lack of understanding of concussions and the repercussions of that era will bite them on the arse - but that is what has to be proven.

Since knowledge and understanding has quickly evolved in the game, steps have been taken to minimise and reduce both the incident and effects of concussions. Protocols are in place and testing is rigorous. Rules have been implemented to removed the most dangerous aspects of areas in the game likely to cause harm.

That is the AFL's duty of care.

You cannot legislate out impact. You cannot rule out contact. You can't anticipate biomechanics or the law of gravity or force. You can simply try and reduce risk.

Without being silly, the sooner a case is tested in court and limitations set, the rhetoric around every incident being the end of the AFL is catastrophising and alarmist. What happens today is very different to 5 years ago and 5 before that.

It's difficult to think that a system that says the outcome is arbiter of result makes sense. The Bedford and Cameron tackles almost prove that.

For the sake of the game you'd hope that the AFLPA and the AFL can find some sort of understanding on how to move forward otherwise every week from here on in there are going to be multiple cases in front of the tibunal just like these.
