Im suprised too that he is straight back in, his form had really tapered off just before being dropped against carlton. Think he had to go back to vfl to earn his spot back. Yes hes a big kid and gets the contested ball, but his form hadnt warranted selection.

We definitely needed another mid after the game against Carlton. I guess the other choices would have been Kennedy or PK. I don't think they are keen on Kennedy and Blair in the same team and PK isn't strong enough at the contest.

Maybe we told Scharenberg that we will pay what he wants contract wise now that we've seen him at AFL level and we feel it's better for him now to go back and play a full game at VFL then a quarter as sub.

Don't get how degoey is the chosen one. He's done some ok things but he isn't good enough to miss and come straight back in.

If Moore rucks again they better hope he gets through unscathed. Crazy to be putting a skinny kid in the ruck.

He's good enough if he's performed better than the player(s) he was dropped for though. It's not like he came in as a straight swap for Adams or something.

I wouldnt be too worried about the outs. I think, based on the trend of the season, if your a 1st or 2nd year player, unless you do something exceptional (kick 5 amd be the only positive out of a game) you can expect to be in and out regularly.

I honestly dont mind this attitude. I think it helps to break down the sense of entitlement young blokes may develop after getting a solid go in their first year, it keeps them hungry which is good for everyone involved. Dont think it is as simple as selection being based on form

Glad we dropped Scharenberg.

We need to win every game to make the finals, we're not here to gift games to anyone. is he best 22 at this stage? No way. Great changes, very confident going into this. Got our full strength midfield on the park and for the first time this year a forward line of Cloke, Moore, Reid, Fasolo and Elliot. Huge game, up the Maggies!

You don't think degoey might have a sense of entitlement?

Pumped to see Cloke and DeGoey back.
Shame to see Scharenberg and Maynard out, however Cloke one of the first picked and DeGoey is ahead of those 2 for mine.

Reality is with Shaz being the sub last week he was always a big chance to come out I guess.
Maynard was due for a rest ala DeGoey a few weeks back.

Happy with the 22

Sub to be one of Blair/DeGoey/Sinclair

Line up as follows:

B - Marsh Frost Toovey
HB - Williams Brown Langdon
C - Swan Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - Varcoe Cloke Fasolo
F - Elliott Reid Moore
R - Grundy Adams Greenwood
INT - Crisp Blair Sinclair DeGoey

Pretty decent line up.

Even the interchange is strong.

I don't rate PK but if you're not going to reward performance in the 2s you will end up with some very sh itty players .

I think it has more to do with there not being a spot for him. With Fasolo and Elliott in the side there is no room up forwar and he is not a pure mid.

with the exception of sinclair in over shaz and maynard, id say this is the best team we've had on the park this year

Forward line looks good, backlines kicking efficiency stat will be interesting to look at after the game.
