Fixture Changes vs Richmond round 4

Lobb played one of the worst games of AFL football I've ever seen and still managed to kick 2. I think we persist for at least 2 more weeks.

Is Weightman ready to go?

It'll be harsh but Cody in for Arthur Jones. No harm in making Jones the sub.

As of last week this was the published injury list. All the "test" players played so unless there's been a divine healer passing through the western suburbs nobody new is ready to go (ie none of those from Weightman down).

In any case I'd be surprised if Bevo doesn't give Jones at least one more game.
After Arty's joyous postgame celebrations he would be the ultimate Grinch to omit the kid.

Bruce to play forward seen enough of Blob I mean Lobb.

Arty probably should not get a game but love his energy and character and he has got something not just ready yet.

Richmond have absolutely pantsed us the last few years. Even if you discount the weird Covid year both 2021 & 2022 were duplicates of each other. We dominate general play but miss some absolute sitters keeping the Tiges in the game, they flex their muscle in the contest and we absolutely wilt under the pressure. Tom Lynch has destroyed us the past two times, hopefully we send Liam Jones to him because Keathy will get eaten alive. This has also generally been the type of game where a hustle 'n bustle sniper like Nankervis bullies English into submission. Tim is improving with every game but this for me is an even bigger test for him than going up against Max Gawn.

Bruce just played his best game as a back while Lobb kicked two goals. Neither are going anywhere.

Injury list now looks a hell of a lot better with a 9 day break coming up. We now have a pretty much a full senior squad to choose from bar Weightman.

Knowing us, there will be a mystery injury appear on the injury report this week.

Darcy was incredible in the first quarter of the 2s
Is Lobb still hampered? I wouldn't go for a 4 talls
forward line again.
Bruce,Keith, Crozier and Dureya are all showing signs of decline.Do we really need them all?
At some stage soon Busslinger ,Cleary and Baku will replace them.(Still not sold on Gardiner though l like his improvement)
Perhaps unchanged this week but pressure will come if we lose.

Darcy still dropped off late in the game in the VFL. I think the 4 tall forward line should be scrapped and we just stick with the conventional 3 tall setup of Naughton, JUH & Lobb/Darcy.

I've said before that there's nothing wrong with setting Darcy up for a good 4-5 weeks of consistent VFL footy as the main forward. Bevo did it with JUH and there's absolutely no shame in Darcy not being ready for 4 quarters of AFL footy yet, that's why we recruited Lobb.

It’s clear we need less coaches and more groin massagers at the kennel!

Hell no. Can’t wait to see Cody and Arty in the same forward line.

This is the week Shai Bolton has circled in his calendar. Ripped us apart the last few times.

Noting JJ’s game against Cameron could he do a role on Bolton?

Arty does stuff none of our forwards do
He puts pressure on the defenders kick

Round 1 and 2 we had no one putting pressure on kicks which allowed teams to cut us up

He brings the energy to chase which makes defenders take a second which allows our structure to cover

Having two of those players in the same forward line is premiership winning style of footy

Taylor Duryea (illness): available
Cody Weightman (groin) 1-2 weeks
Harvey Gallagher (hamstring): 4-6 weeks
Roarke Smith (foot): TBC
Dom Bedendo (groin): indefinite

Wonder who Belly has "forgotton " to mention this week that we will find out is injured on Thursday night? How did Treloar and Lobb pull up? Might be nice to hear about that, instead of telling us **** all about Rourke Smith.

Amount of times Bell has used the word "conservative" in his report over the last couple of seasons.

Agreed, he may not get may possessions but he’s one of the only few with elite speed in our forward line that’ll make players nervous.

He will make a great small combo with Weightman and soon Clarke.

There is an argument for Bruce to stay but not for Lobb he kicked 2 lucky goals one from a spilled tackle in the right spot and other from chest mark that was not a mark. He did has done naught for what he was in the side for in 2 games.

It's also going to be wet so wouldn't go overly tall
Yeah. That's odd this time of year traditionally very very odd. I have fished for Mulloway in the Barwon for years since the 80s. Traditionally, ultra light to no wind, fogs, no rain. This has been for decades like clockwork! Non stop. When i heard rain it was "what the!?" That's my fishing plans messed up.
But, ill back it in its dry. Traditionally. Ill be surprised if it rains.

A bit tough on the wee fella.
Rd 1 - did SFA but it turned out he was injured, so ...
Rd 2 - out injured after minor surgery
Rd 3 - rushed back (probably underdone) following surgery, kicked "lucky" 2 goals then was subbed out. I wish some of our other highly paid players could kick multiple lucky goals from less than a full game.

The bloke has come over after a 30+ goal season at Fremantle, has barely had a chance to establish a bond with his teammates, let alone understand how we play (we've been watching for years and can't figure it out ourselves), he's been injured and operated on and hasn't yet taken the field 100% sound in his only two games. Yet you've summarily dismissed him.

I'm tipping he'll make you want to eat your words before half the season is out.
