Yarran the best of his draft?

Sure, if you ignore guys like Naitanui, Hill, Hartlett, Ziebell, Sidebottom, Johnson, Ballantyne, Trengove, Zaharakis, Redden, Beams, Hannebery, Sloane, Rockliff, Breust and Broughton, then he'd be up there.

Not sure if serious? I'm sensing some serious Cyril insecurity coming through... Mind you Betts has had Cyril covered for 5 years now.

Has now realised the potential seen in him when drafted

Was absolutely electrifying last nite against the Eagles. Literally set the ground alight Road Runner style.

True matchwinner who can rip teams apart with a few bursts of brilliance.

Magnificient get by the blues, truly sensational

Yep whilst I hated it happening to us I still admired those runs for the spectacle. Footballers like him and Jetta are a treat to watch at full flight.

Rioli is the king of the poor game 10 disposals and still pumped up.
Would take Yarran over Rioli for us. Looks ready to year it apart.

Actually he is currently averaging about 20 disposals, 5 tackles and a couple goals, but thanks for your concern

I thought this thread was about Yarran?

If you honestly think Yarran is better than all of those players, then there is no reason to continue this conversation
I'm not saying he is better than all the 16 players you've mentioned, you're saying all 16 players are better than him which is pure madness.

You're basically inferring that Yarran isn't worthy of a first round draft pick in 08.

End conversation.

Yes, this is what I am inferring. I didn't even mention guys like Davis, Motlop or Shiels who are borderline

I'm also not quite sure how you could make a case for Yarran over any of the players I listed bar maybe Broughton

That's a bit harsh, I'd say earlyish second round
You do seem to be spending far too much time on a lovely Melbourne Sunday sitting at your computer running down a player capable of rare feats, is this something that worries you? Just join the majority of folk and enjoy the special moments that this guy can bring.

Yaz has a ridiculous amount of talent, if he works hard he will end up an elite player of the comp.

Mind you that is a big if.

And for you bone heads out there he is up forward because Betts isn't playing. Also he is super creative and sets up goals for others.

Maybe I'm just blessed with the team I follow as Yarran would be third in line as a small forward and at Box Hill as a rebounding defender if he played for Hawthorn.

I see most Carlton games and most of the time, Yarran is just solid with an equal amount of good and poor games thrown in.

So Hill would get a game ahead of him?

Nice trolling.

Even the media agree, that whilst talented, he's highly unaccountable

This is what is stopping everyone rating him, if he's going to play his ripoff half-timeback, he needs to dominate (birchall style), and not play 1 blinded every 8 weeks

I'm just as much on a computer as you

I do enjoy his special moments, his highlight reel is one of the best in the competition, I just think it is over the top to be making statements such as saying he is the 'best of his draft' or an 'A grader'. Let the guy perform consistently with some continuity in his role before suggesting these sorts of things.

He had a very good 2011, last year with injuries was more the one blinder every so often.

This year he's been good in every game.

I hear he's better mates with Walters :thumbsu:

nic nat will have a chat with both and bring em both to the eagles.

in all seriousness its awesome to see all three boys from the midland area prosper in their careers. all have had their ups and downs but its good to see all three doing well at their clubs

It's not coincidence that MM plays him off the Wing or HFF.

While he created a lot of run off HB he should have always been an attacking forward.

That is sensible, saying he would only be a half back flanker at Box Hill is not.

If Cyril didn't have a great day out in the '08 Granny I wonder if he would get the attention he gets today,

Though there is a lot to be said for mattering on a day that counts.

Meh, that was just a little show-off type post. Having Birchall, Hodge, Burgoyne, Suckling and Guerra coming out of the backline isn't a bad asset to have ;)

He'd be quite a handy addition on a wing or flank though and I'd happily reassess how I rate him if he continues his form to say midyear or thereabouts.
