You could see Yarran was breaking hard and was demanding the ball be kicked out in front of him. He had no chance of changing direction to make any kind of contest.

I havent seen to many subs come on as forwards and have much of an influence yet, Yarran was no different.

Betts should have been on the bench not Yazz. He should have started on the wing except Lucas

Yarran is a lazy, front running player with no heart for the hard ball and loves the flashy stuff. He will contribute to the odd meaningless win along the way maybe even win one for you.But in real pressure situations like last night and the Richmond game he will lose it for you. This is exactly the type of player you don't want in finals. He won't buy in to the team so he's just a weak link.

His body language during the game as he was on the bench was telling. Who has their hands in their pockets during a game?

Do you even watch the team in your profile?

I guess you're looking for a new whipping boy with Brock playing well.

Yarran is more likely to rise in a final and do something brilliant than nothing. Did it in the WC final when he was pushed forward and created two score assists from nowhere.

Yarran said he is still carring the turf toe injury he suffered last year. Suspect Mick knows more than he's letting on.

Our substitutes haven't had an impact this year bar Buckley who came on very early against Geelong.

Channel 7 really trying to turn this into an issue, Yarran's attitude on the bench, etc, and have even created a phone poll on whether he should be dropped.

FFS that kind of crap is fine for Big Footy but coming from the AFL's lead broadcaster in prime time is poor form IMO. AFL should pull them up. Not just this example, but the entire coverage these days has degenerated into one big in-joke for the presenters.

You've clearly never seen Sevens saturday craptacular coverage before. They make Bigfooty look normal.

Starting to worry me the Yazman. One of those players with enormous talent who we don't want to lose. Yet he has one of those personalities where if one is too hard on him he wouldn't be scared to walk out, yet if he is cuddled would get too comfortable and play selfish footy. Malthouse has turned plenty of these players around, my fingers are tightly crossed he can do it with Yarran.

I have defended him ever since we drafted him when people questioned his character etc.. But I am starting to worry if he really does have the work ethic and mental toughness to be a top AFL player. Pretty sure I just saw GAJ rotate to the bench almost dry reeching, that's what it takes. Not 3 or 4 flashy bursts a game. Will be an interesting journey for this bloke.

I'm about the same. Watched him at Swans and have been a big defender of his since he got drafted but he does have worrying signs. Made the think of the WAFL Grand Final he played in before he was drafted. I'm not sure he touched it all day, but worse he didn't look bothered about it, or do anything to try and get into the game.
Mind you he's a lay back dude. Just how he rolls.

Yeah, plenty of blokes are laid back but still competitive as hell. Bit worrying if a professional athlete isn't bothered if he doesn't touch the footy all day. Definitely doesn't seem to have the competitive streak that's required in AFL.

Well hello to you Gia. Now Gia you came on in the second quarter last week, thats a lot different than coming on in the last wouldnt you think?

Came on with half the third quarter left the week before and had a hand in nearly every goal after that.
