We have information about every other high profile player (best 22) from the club. Marley is the only player notable by his absence in media releases, photos or playing in current games. Of all I've read here, the likeliest explanation is that he has a niggle, although there is no, Balmy report supported by Blackmore's, to support this. So, perhaps there are some personal issues that the club wants to keep quiet about, in which case I'm happy to leave it at that.

Some may have seen my previous posts as a bit of a "bleet." I did ham it up a bit, but I'm certainly not too concerned.

Why do you think he hasn't played at all?
No idea, but given he's participating in full training it's hardly concerning. Certainly doesn't warrant an MIA tag. Reserve that for cases like Abbott who actually did go MIA last year.

I will agree with you if he participates in NAB 3. If he misses that I am officially concerned!

Because he's not injured?
and do we know that. personally l don't care, just the carrying on about ben reid yet the quietness
about Marley by the same posters is rather strange

I was really enjoying flying under the radar, I'm not liking all the finals/top 4 talk the last couple of days.
Not everyone agrees with that. So by law of average opinion we should sneak into top8. The age vs games played comparison is interesting though.

Dave, when you post a link, can you try to put a little extract of some context into the post as well?
Why the need? Age articles generally aren't pay walled are they?

Did not know he was out of Contract at years end.

He get nice Pay Rise
Yeah, standard 2 year contract when he was traded. Awesome that he signed for another three with no fuss!

Found this ver interesting from the article.

Potentially Collingwood's biggest weapon, however, is youthful experience. The Magpies remain in the bottom half of the AFL for age of their list (ranked 12th) but their average games per player mark of nearly 70 is more than the league average, and significantly more than other rivals around the same mark for age.

It's the third year in a row the Magpies have ranked 12th or lower for age. They have only one player – Swan – older than 30, yet still have 12 players who have racked up 100 games or more.

And the pumping of games into youngsters over four Buckley-led pre-seasons has paid off. Over the same period, only GWS, St Kilda and Brisbane have debuted more players.

The result is another 13 players between the 40-80 game mark, and a vast bulk of a list which has at least had some sort of taste of senior football.

Only the Western Bulldogs have fewer players on the books yet to make a senior debut, and the Pies' figure of eight is in stark contrast to the likes of seasoned campaigners Sydney and Hawthorn, who have 15 and 13 players respectively yet to get a taste of AFL action as the veterans continue to hold the fort.

Not sure how anyone could think that youth would help us perform this year... Youth might mean that we can grow our performance over a number of years (until we peak) but it wouldn't help us in a single season...

Youth means we have perception over ability for at least 2-3 games each youngster. Can't be underrated. Our older campaigners will be more consistent but our bright stars will do enough in their games to make a difference.
