Reef should be included, but again wouldn't be surprised if WHE they play for the experience with Reef Sub. But should be the other way around

COLLINGWOOD

HB: N. Daicos, J. Howe, S. Pendlebury

C: J. Daicos, J. Crisp, S. Sidebottom

HF: J. Elliott, D. McStay, W. Hoskin-Elliott

F: B. Hill, B. Mihocek, B. McCreery

Going by everyone in here, no Murphy? Even if Frampton plays surely Murphy's spot is still secure

I just hope people aren’t too shocked if this does happen. It’s something that’s been on the cards most of preseason

The problem is if you go with both of them, you're shifting the defender balance away from transition. The only real way to include them both without damaging the balance with transition would be to shift Bruzzy away from a core defender role and into being primarily a rebounder. And Bruzzy is a star defender, so I wouldn't do that.

I can see that Frampton is going to get first crack, but geez I feel bad for Murphy. He could not have performed more admirably as the second tall in the second half of last year.
Agree, he has done nothing wrong except be 8cm shorter.

We'd need to be bloody lucky for Murphy to not play a significant role this year.

We'd need Frampton to be the goods and then Frampton, Moore and Howe to all maintain a clean bill of health.

I'd be betting on him getting a good run. But if he doesn't, that's what happens when you've got a good list - some decent players miss out.

According to Fox Sport:

Magpies’ predicted Round 1 team

B: Isaac Quaynor, Darcy Moore, Brayden Maynard

HB: Nick Daicos, Jeremy Howe, Scott Pendlebury

C: Josh Daicos, Jack Crisp, Steele Sidebottom

HF: Jamie Elliott, Dan McStay, Taylor Adams

F: Bobby Hill, Brody Mihocek, Beau McCreery

FOLL: Darcy Cameron, Jordan De Goey, Tom Mitchell

I/C: Mason Cox, Billy Frampton, John Noble, Reef McInnes, Will Hoskin-Elliott

We say:
Perhaps the biggest call for Craig McRae is whether he opts to remain with Nathan Murphy in defence or the recruit Billy Frampton, with all signs pointing to the latter to play more of a key post role and free up the Pies’ other backs. Along with Tom Mitchell, Dan McStay and Bobby Hill, it’d mean all four of Collingwood’s recruits would line up Round 1. Mason Cox also figures to be there to chop out Darcy Cameron given McRae deployed two rucks for the majority of last season. A shoulder setback to Patrick Lipinski has opened the door for likely either Will Hoskin-Elliott or Reef McInness, and we’re tipping the latter, while Jack Ginnivan remains suspended until at least Round 3.

I don’t think our backline can generate enough run and carry with all of Moore, Howe, Murphy and Frampton.
We've played Moore, Howe, Madgen and Roughy before but yeah team balance says Murphy probably misses out though. Extremely stiff

Team structure says Murphy misses out unfortunately.

If Roughy never retired, Murphy never would have played. He's unlucky, but that's how footy rolls sometimes. We can't keep being a key defender short. And I can't imagine playing all of Moore, Frampton, Howe, Murphy, IQ, Noble and then add in Nick and Pendles off HB.

We lose a forward/mid and we're not gonne replace him with a defender tbh. I just can't see it. Sometimes, good players are unlucky. Look at Geelong's premiership team and who missed out.

Who is our best match for Jeremy Cameron?

You have seen the proposed team. Reef isn’t in at the moment. Who are you leaving out, apart from him and Carmichael?

COLLINGWOOD

B: B. Maynard, D. Moore, I. Quaynor

HB: N. Daicos, J. Howe, S. Pendlebury

C: J. Daicos, J. Crisp, S. Sidebottom

Cox potentially, McStay has taken Cox's spot from last years best 22

I hope when they resurfaced the G they left a 6ft hole for Ollie Henry. Sounds like the boys are planning his funeral.

He would want to get an AVO on Bruz and McReery before the bounce.

What have you heard about the funeral and its prelude?

Bruz is highly encouraged to plot a suitable collision course or time a bone-shattering tackle to perfection without himself copping a suspension. The manner of Henry's treatment is almost as important as the game result. 3-4 goals kicked against us by Ollie and a loss to Geelong would be an unbearable outcome.

Vid is too large to post here but on 7 news tonight condensed version is:

  1. Henry has a target on his back
  2. McReery said there’s bad blood there
  3. Crispo said there will be push and shove to throw him off his game, and his response to the critics thinking this will be a walkover was literally “stuff them”.

Game on.

Is it possible there are still bays left they're waiting to sell? The only reason I ask is that I saw Geelong was offering 25% off all tickets, which would be strange to do for a game that would sell out.
They’ve opened up a few extra bays, q37-39, since I purchased. Those bays are in the top corner of the MCC closest to the Ponsford though, which from memory aren’t always opened to the public. Perhaps Geelong was also trying to clear their membership allocation?
