You have turned into a smug troll who no longer adds anything of value on here.

On other boards you would have been sent packing along time ago.

Dont bother replying your on ignore.
Show me where I’ve trolled someone.

Even when I’m replying to you in regards to the academies, the majority of the discussion is fair dinkum.

Just because you disagree with whatever point I’m making, doesn’t make it trolling.

It’s made sense to me to just draft the best available with the pick you have and then trade for need. Being too clever is a trap, eg why keep rotham on the list just because he’s the right age and might play 3rd tall defence one day? He’s a list clogger plain and simple. He’s not alone - Jones is another. Harry Edwards is another. These guys aren’t up to it - they either don’t have the ability or their body won’t stand up.

Chop and redraft

Surprised Jack Carrol at Carlton hasnt been discussed more. Would be a nice pickup OOC and just starting to making an impact. Walsh out has provided an opportunity.

Right age profile and would cost a 3rd ATM.
Good name to pluck out- Has been ok this year. But before that based on last year I would have thought would be in Carlton delist pile.

I dont think we should waste a list spot on scraps. After this years draft we should have plenty of options to roll through the middle.
Hall is essentially going to be that next one in + another top 20 mid.

Would we look at Nth Melb Will Phillips high draft pick ,missed a lot of footy due to various illness,Nth flushed with mids and coukd be looking for more opportunities.
Probably only cost a 3rd round pick
This would be a great pickup.
Is behind others now but can still play 150 afl games as the 3rd/4th mid at West Coast.

The whole AFL laughed when North skipped McDonald for a reason

Hypothetical.

Reid is desperate to go to any Vic side what would we realistically receive as a trade?

Depends where that club sits on the ladder.

You can run a full hypothetical spreadsheet based on each position on the ladder.

The complication is, will players be included. X player + X pick really throws the dynamics out if the difference is pick 5 or pick 15.

Jesus, can we at least wait until next year until starting this BS.

What is it with your obsession with Reid leaving? You sound desperate for it to happen.

I've hardly mentioned it (that I can think) I was purely thinking of what we would realistically recieve after 1 season.

I want him to stay 100% seems like a great kid.

He's worth more than JHF due to him being combo
1. Fan favourite all the causal nuffies love his bash and crash. He's got a cult following
2. Playing abilities

He's not purely worth more then JHF due to playing abilities. Number 1 matters. Since you see carltob and other vic clubs fans using the line throw everything at him.

The amazing thing about Harley reid is his not so reliance of speed.

You look at JHF and Wardlaw they are speedsters that rely on their speed to get through contest. Harley does not. I'm amazed by his ability to get space without necessarily needing speed. He has almost a Sam Mitchell way of getting space (bad example but can't think of another player who does not speed but always gets to space)

And no when I mean create space I don't mean Harley fending off. I mean the space he gets prior to fending off.

Make no mistake Harley reid has speed (not saying he doesn't). He tested from what I read above state average

I don’t want to heap on while you’re feeling down, but even if the AFL changed the NGA rules it wouldn’t help that much.

Our academy doesn’t spit out high end talent the way others do. Just from zoning reasons.

Erasmus the only one that has gone first round.
What are you on about? Malaki Champion is sitting right there waiting for us

Pick number 1 doesn't really mean all that much. If GC came to the club right now and said right we'll trade you this years first and next years first for Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson on 1 mill a year contracts for 7 years do you seriously think the club would turn it down?

I hope we can get him, looks a gun.

We can only match from pick 40 onwards at this stage and he’s likely to go before that… unless the VAFL changes the rules.
VAFL will change rules I think. Too much pressure on them not too from not only us but Freo. Freo said basically change the rules or we will close the academy altogether

One thing to discuss also

How in the blue hell were we unable to talk Nick Bryan into joining us? We couldnt talk a bloke from being 3rd choice ruck behind 2 A graders to taking a big pay rise and being 2nd choice with a good chance to be 1st choice

We had much better opportunities to offer and more money to boot. What did we tell him to say "Nah ill just play VFL for the next 2 years"
