Well the Charlie Cameron rumor is interesting. Cracks starting to appear with the Lions list, Charlie chasing one more decent pay day and a chance at a flag elsewhere?

Read also that Dusty will play his 300th and semi retire immediately. Do a Harwick and have some time off before feeling refreshed and head to Gold Coast. Now that sounds weird IMO. Use Richmond to get him to 300, walk out mid-season and then go to the Suns? I'd be pretty pissed off if he played for us and did that.

Warners response is exactly as expected. His manager will be playing three clubs off against each other to get his client a massive pay rise. We should lob a $2m pa front loaded deal at him for year 1 just to up the anti and force the Swans to pay up if he stays.

Obsession with height is weird. How tall are Weitering, May, Lever, Aliir, Ridley, McCartin, Taylor, Buckley, Ballard etc???
May (192cm), Lever (194cm), Aliir (194cm), Ridley (195cm), McCartin (194cm), Taylor (198cm), Buckley (195cm), Ballard (196cm)

The above are setting 195cm as the floor for key defenders, but players are getting taller, I imagine in 10 years time we'll have 200cm+ as the average key forward height.

We've all ready got Hipwood, Daniher, King x 2, McKay, Darcy, Mitch Lewis, Comben, etc., who are ~200cm+ with more coming.

Dashing defender Luke Beecken is a strong chance to have his name called out tonight at the mid season draft. Pace to burn and an excellent, penetrating and creative left foot kick are both attributes tailor made for the modern game.

So you’re saying Williams part of deal for Warner?

Kind of looks that way if we take a tall forward.

Could be jumping at shadows.

I really want BW to get an extended run forward. I think he'll be a lot better than some think in that area with experience.

That mark over the top of a flying Luke Jackson was special.

If it helps us get Warner though....Well

At first i scoffed at the idea that we’d be covering our bases in case of a Williams trade, but it does make some sense. It makes even more sense if Logan heads off to Freo at the end of the year.

I'm sorry but that list of 200cm players is pretty underwhelming. I'd take none of them.

Comben has shown he could be a very good KPD, less clear about being forward.

I agree with you, that 5-6 years ago it looked like the game was going to be taken over by 200cm+ tall forwards, but what we’ve seen is what they have in height they lack in other areas, and if you can stop them getting a good run and jump, there’s not a whole lot else to their games.

I still think the sweet spot for a key forward is 195-198cm, like a Walter.

Super talls seem less a threat now than 3-5 years ago.

Thanks for these vids mate, love ya work.

I wish I had seen the video before I voted. Would be happy to see this guy in the blue & gold.

That list of super tall key forwards isn't great, certainly no Curnow or Cameron level player's. Darcy should be very, very good though

What they all lack is the ability to stay on the park for a whole season. This dream clubs have for keys to be 200 is a pipe dream for most. In 10yrs very few of them will have played 150-200 games.

The point is that natural growth of individuals will see that height push up. They will also be better than in the past. Not saying a 195cm player won’t/can’t make it but you will face more and more good players up around 200cm

St Kilda—Hawks—Bulldogs—Essendon all interested

I meant whether people had any interest in us selecting him.

If he’s considered one of the top prospects, he plays a position we need some depth, he’s young so he’s got development to come … I’m a little surprised he hasn’t been talked about more here.

Scenario Based.

1 - He goes to Freo to replace Walters.

2 - Liam Ryan Hammy Tendon's are stuffed, he wont return to the Liam Ryan we once knew, Brockman is delisted, Petch is almost always discussed in trades back to Victoria, this probably happens at some stage, Cripps is almost done, Gaff and Sheed are done. Dewar is just getting a game now. Jury is out. We could definately use Charlie Cameron for to nurture young blokes like Noah Long. Charlie has 3 to 4 yrs left. Never had weight issues before.

P.S let's bring home Lance Collard. 2nd or 3rd round pick?

Zippy and creative, like the look of him.

Exactly. They’re all hyped up to shit, solely because they’re 200 cm+ but they’re actually mostly terrible focal points for the fwd line.

Darcy I would make an exception to, he seems like a gun. But that’s one guy
