National Recruiting Manager Duane Massey says: “Jack is playing as a 190cm forward, can really mark it, has got really good speed and is very compliant in the Collingwood system. We’re scoping that he could play wing and maybe even across half-back, so we think he’s got flexibility in his game to play a few different roles. We really like his talent.”

I for one welcome our new Mid Season Draft Saviour Jai Culley Ryan Maric Jack Hutchinson!

Of course, son of Premiership Eagle Mark Hutchings, hence the name.

So Hutchinson is a Ryan/Cripps/Culley/Maric/Petch type. Would remove this type of player "IF" he gets a game.

It's even a WATERMAN 4th tall Role type.

Could be a Mason Wood type wingman if we decide to develop him in that role.

Anyone else see Clarko in the background making a throat slitting gesture on the Geordie Payne live stream?

Yeah but that was directed at a group of umpires he had made eye contact with off-screen.

If we wanted a half back I'd be inclined to draft a................half back. I could see him playing on a wing I spose.

Classic Eagles, drafting a half forward to be a wing or half back. After spending about a decade drafting half backs to be midfielders.

His stats at VFL level are thoroughly underwhelming.

This is such a bizarre pick. We’ve have so many mid size talls. We’re crying for back man and we end up with another forward

None of these guys were taken among the 64 national draft picks last year and have only played half a season of footy since then. It’s not like we are talking about anything close to elite talent here. Unless you are a club contending for a flag, you just take a 19 year old who you think might be a solid contributor down the track.
