TB is in the prime of his career and one of the best defenders in the game and on a long contract, he has real significant value. Could be the missing piece of the puzzle for several flag contenders.

I'd be expecting two very good picks if he was to go or a very good pick and a very good player/prospect.
Warner straight swap!

Don't get me wrong, love Oscar but he hasn't played for quite a while whereas Jake has form now.
WC would be wise to leave Jake in front of the sticks for the rest of the season.
4 games for Oscar in the wafl to see where he is at, then chf for the rest of the season.
1 game in the WAFL at most, then bring him straight back in, id be ok with straight back in too but theres no rush. Doesnt matter where he and Jakey position themselves, both are clearly elite as the deep FF and both can play higher up the ground. We arent going out each week to try to win Jake a coleman or anything

Heh trade Oscar?!

Jake Waterman has played half a good season after YEARS of utter mediocrity.

I’m not putting all my eggs in the Snake basket just yet.

Sounds dangerous. 🥚 🥚 🐍

If trading Allen, Barrass, Yeo, Kelly, McGovern and Waterman gets us Draper, Travaglia, Hotton, Lalor, Sharp, Mutimer and 10 priority picks in 2025 and 2026 we should do it.

Winning is overrated. Crushing young players confidence builds character. Demoralisation breeds success.

The West Coast Kangaroos has a nice ring to it. We're the big marsupials, kings of the big tank.

Nobody is on about trading Kelly or Snake, and Allen isnt going anywhere. I think we could afford to lose Yeo and TB, especially if we have Baker coming in. We would still be a LONG way off being comparable to North sacking all their senior players.
Gov, Duggan, Allen, Snake, Baker, Hunt, Flynn, Cole, Kelly, Cripps, Darling and Ryan is enough senior best 22 guys tbh

Nobody forgot how good Oscar Allen is. But Waterman is the recarnation of Josh Kennedy. And if Oscar Allen couldnt get a spot over Prime Josh then I doubt he can one over recarnated Josh Kennedy.

At the moment Waterman's work rate and his attack on the ground ball surpasses/rivals Josh Kennedy. And yes on form. ON current form Waterman contested marking matches JK.

However, the only negative is that can regress in contested marking.

Tdlr:
Prime JK > Prime Oscar
JK = Waterman current form
Waterman > Oscar

All based on logic

Rather than losing yeo, Tb or Allen, what we really need is father/son prospect banfield to dominate the remainder of the year. If underager banfield looks to be a top 10 pick in 2025 we should trade our f1 for this years gold coast pics 8 & 10. Walk away with pic 3,8,10 and bid on banfield with some fourth rounders in 2025, bliss

GC won’t do that because they need points so they’d just trade down from 8 and 10 rather than trading for a future pick.

If Oscar sooks it up with Waterman being our key target and sooks it up to the point he is fat and immobile to play up the ground I want him on the trade table

Just because he's captain doesn't mean he is untradable. It's a laughable defence given he has played so little games.
This is a bold post from someone who hands out dislikes like herpes at an Ochre party.

That would be awesome if he could get that high.
Our F1 wouldnt get 2 top 10 picks, we might get one top 10 though.
If Brisbane have a top 8 pick theyd be an ideal target, or one of the GC picks. Hawks pick is probably reserved for the dogs for bazlenka, maybe we could get it off the Dogs? Crows/Saints probably want to use their pick to get an elite mid, Same with the Cats if they fall out of the top 8

I don't we could afford to lose either TBH.
Yeo and TB are crucial for us.

Well, I assume he will be fit, just not match fit.
I don't think him running around in the wafl would do him any good. Especially for a month.

I'd bring him straight back in.
If not, 1 game in the wafl to see if he gets through ok.
I don't know about fitness, his knee would not let him get peak fitness.
Wafl for mine

We need more top end talent. One first rounder per year is not going to do it.

If trading TB could help with this then reluctantly I would do it. He is a really good player and has been a loyal servant of the club but currently we don’t need two top ten kpds.
Somehow we have to generate more picks.

Not so sure about Yeo. On the proviso he is fit then he is more value to us for three years than a second round pick.
Even more so if the pick is diluted if we bring in a free agent.

Oscar is hands down our best forward, the thought of trading him because Waterman has finally decided to be an AFL quality forward frankly makes me vomit.

The way I see it is we have a bunch of senior players still, Yeo and TB while very good players arent going to be there when we contend next. We are going to need to deal with the dip after losing a bunch of the senior guys at some point, getting Baker would somewhat offset losing Yeo, and we have other KPDs providing HEdwards stays healthy.
HEdwards has shown enough to convince me there is an AFL level KPD in there, definitely not TB levels but hes not awful.

I dont think we go backwards next year by losing them, an extra year into Reid/Ginbey/Chesser/Hough types, Hewett back, Allen back, Long back, etc should at the very least keep us in the same spot on the ladder. Get another high pick next year and maybe acquire a player or 2 and we are sorted.

I think we need more picks somehow, and if losing TB and Yeo allows us to increase our draft hand while gaining Baker and Buss its worth exploring

If we got Baker in with the Yeo compo pick it might not be a massive loss, especially if Yeo does start to struggle more with his groin over the next couple of years

Trade Waterman and BWilliams to Melbourne for pick 9, Judd McVee and Trent Rivers.
