Id like to think like most that Bazzo > H.Edwards anyway would we not?

If H.Edwards goes also we can then just keep Callum Jamieson and hope he has a injury free year. Backups beyond that can then be your Maric/A.Reid people

We dont need Clurrey or H.Edwards. We are not trying to win a flag here, nor does our defense necessarily need any more experienced help. Our defense is fine without either of them

If H.Edwards unlocks Baker trade then lets do it.

Yes it’s all just fine.

The level of anxiety over this kid is pretty hilarious. He's checks notes again 197cm..... Has 100% played with a knee injury this year, and was started in Defence in the SANFL. Was given 2 games in the seniors and looked a little behind with the speed of the game because checks notes again.. he's 197cm...

Big lads always take a little longer. We've switched him into midfield, and sure it might look a little frustrating for supporters seeing him injected into the game with only 4 mins to go, but we were in with a sniff against Geelong, and Crouch was likely told to play until he was cooked.

My guess is that he'll either start this weekend in the seniors, or be given full minutes in the SANFL.
Putting checks notes in italics like a tosser detracts from your overall point which actually has validity.

If we’re hoping to match a bid for Malakai with pick 59 we need that bid to come no earlier than pick 45. If a bid came as early as say pick 30 we’d need to add the equivalent of pick 50 to add to 59 to build enough points to match

Probably want to be going into the draft with an extra F3 that we can use to trade back into this years draft to cover a possibly earlier than expected bid

Just from a player point of view, Harry's going to have more of a chance of winning a flag with us than the Demons. They've peaked but just don't know it yet.
Yes but when we are considered ready to win a flag, Harry might be at the club but not in our Best 23.

Agree that Demons are in trouble and they have not made the most of Gawn (32), Lever (28), May (32), Viney (30), Oliver (27) , Brayshaw (retired) and Petracca (28). All these players bar Angus are still capable of going around again but the cliff will come fast for the club.

Saw Will Brodie raised earlier today - one dimensional, average tank, lacks a defensive game. The exact antithesis of the type of player we should be adding to the list.

At least Graham can kick a snag and can play defensive roles.

3 of the young boys named in the 22under22 squad. Hopefully joined by JWill, Hewett and Sid/FOS next year….. but the rebuild hasn’t started.
To be clear, it is a best squad of 40 under 22. That said, your point is still valid.

Hough (draft 21) Ginbey (draft 22) and Harley (draft 23). Hewett (draft 22) has shown enough if fit he is in that league.

Here is the AFLPA list of best 40 Squad of players under 22

Norf have 5, while Freo and Hawks have 4. Eagles along with Crows, Cats, Suns, Dees and Dogs have 3

Dons and Tigers are the 2 clubs not represented

Since it is 40, I suspect Harley is the only one that is certain to get in the best 22

When you consider Freo with 3 x R1 picks this year and 4 representatives, their list profile is pretty good and they can afford to trade these picks for layers who can get them a flag

If the voters watched Eagles games, then Hough would be a shoo-in.

Ah read that as all 4 would. My bad

I think too early to give up on Flynn. Still not 100% fit as he has mentioned before
We cant go into another season hoping Flynn gets up for every game. If we could rely on him then sure, but we cant.

Need something better than Flynn/BW.

The only suggested ruckman that would push Flynn out for next year is English

That is a very Eagles-coloured view of the comparison. Premierships are won in the midfield, A-grade midfielders will always be worth more than even A-grade defenders. And the difference between being at the start of your peak and nearing the end of your peak is probably the mot important reason why Warner is worth more than Barrass.
Too bad Warner is a B grader then eh😏

Yeah freo are very well set up atm. They can afford to trade in talent while still drafting high.
Not too many holes to plug either

Yeah, they all get ticks for me as long term players in a finals team in the future.

I think JWill will be in the squad next year. Hopefully no sub and gets the CHF/Ruck role all year.

Not only does he pass the eye test when hes out there, his stats actually compare very well against other key forwards in that squad. Considering the ball struggles to get down there compared to the other players teams (also plays back up ruck which also helps)

Crazy thing is he might actually be our best ruck option next year, not ideal. His work against Witts on the weekend was very good. Don’t have to win the tap but just can’t let them grab it or hit it down a throat of their mids.

I think a lot better evaluation of teams young players compared to how many rising star nominations every team gets.
