3rd rounders are still worth points. If you're handing over your F2 in the Barras trade, you want Hawks F3 back at a minimum.

Especially if your boys are rated a little way back, behind some of the other nga or father son kids. Those third rounders will start coming in as other teams have to still use multiple picks to match bids on their kids.
They've shaved tonnes of points off, 3rd rounders will hold very little value on a bid. Stay in your own lane and just be grateful what the afl has let you get away with

So Warner isn't coming to us at least for another year. :frowning:
Probably for the best.

Who knows. If they get thumped by 80 odd he might just think what’s the point?

Lions list improving
Hawks list improving
Port list improving

Best to leave now.

Warner been a no show in the grand final. Swans losing means he will 100% stay for another crack next year and we won't cough up 2 firsts for him.

I don’t think they let him go whilst contracted but I can’t see how 2 grand final beltings in 3 years makes him want to stay.

I get they will contend for a while but the mental scarring they’ll have after this might be impossible to overcome anytime soon.

The real Joker in the pack is Jack Hutchinson. He could be the mid we badly need.
Only one game in that role but man it was a cracker.

Wouldn't that be a lovely mid-season pick bonus?

I must admit I was questioning/cursing us picking another tall forward a few months back.

But (granted it was only one game) he looked very comfortable in the middle.

So if Fat X has input Warner would only request a trade if Swans win, then we hold our picks. Happy to go with 3 13 and 23

If we have committed to Baker, then the Tigers will have loads of picks and I’m thinking they will have 6 and some teens picks. I would be ok with 3 + 23 for 6 + 16 + Baker

We then have
6 - Lalor or Smillie or best of the 7 mids
13
16
58
60

Booster our 2025 hand with 2 first rounders and where Banfield and Walley should be available with points and Evans as a Cat B

So after todays total capitulation from Sydney you would expect no offers would be looked at by Sydney this trade period.

The reigning premiers gonna be getting their second number one overall pick in three years. What a league. It's the type of stuff in sports you read about from the 70's or 80's where the word equalisation was never a thing and the rich kept getting richer. What a time to be alive.

Current system better than a previous version of the ‘old system’.

From memory Cats got GAJ and Hawkins for third rounders.

What would we give up for Noah Anderson?
