Top up midfield with best WAFL midfielder as a rookie , might be Rokahr from SD who won the Sandover medal in 2024 , might have done similar in 2023 in the SANFL medal where runner-up in the Magarey medal plus 2022 , runner up .
Consistent often tagged ....surely proven himself Eagles ....
Riley Bice in vfl looks ok as outside mid, got a nice kick on him.

What do you think a Dees trade could look like?
I dont think 3+26 for 5+9 works, maybe 3+ a f1 we get for Barrass for 5+9?

I'd be all over the first suggestion. All depends on who Dees are ultimately targetting.

Agree you can’t just take mids but we’re far from stacked and haven’t had a large cache of early picks the last couple drafts despite our finishing positions.

Before the draft is compromised further and looking at what we have we are still deficient in the middle and need at least a couple more quality pieces to build around

Yes we need to add a couple more .ids over this year and next year.

We also have other needs.

Interesting.

Presume it’s our future picks we’d get from Barrass but if we can consider f***ing Baker off and trading our F1 and Barrass capital for 6,13,29 then we could go to the draft with 3,6,13,26,29,62,67 and leave GCS with 4 x 1Rs next year.

Oh yes, we turned down pick 14 cos we were actually desperate for pick 13 instead. This was the clincher...

Sounds like North are going to get 13, so we can probably rule that out of any potential trades. Wouldve been handy if the Saints got it to split 3, or if it couldve been involved in the Barrass deal somehow

Norths f1 for 13? lol

I like it when Ginbey just takes the game on.

He's getting more confident.

Sent from my SM-S908E using BigFooty.com mobile app

Re-watched the Tassie North game (yeah, that miraculous comeback one from last year); and Ginbey was huge in the last quarter, just hitting every contest he could, forcing the ball forward and running past to offer options.

Unfortunately Ginners ain't a Hayden Young in the making.... more a simple, run in straight lines sort of guy that's a competitive beast with great size.

He will be a gun off half back in another year or so and Hough/Ginbey set us up in that area.

So gun mids it is in this draft.

rumours are saying that tom barrass is an afl player

Yes and no in the sense that its 2020 and they have drafted much better then us and have much better youngsters then we do.

Not even close either :(

Pfffft.

Feel free to list Hawthorn's 6 best midfielders.

2 best forwards.

And 2 best tall defenders.

And let's just see how far off (behind) the Eagles similar list is.

And they did start rebuilding 3 years before us.

I’m a little confused as to why we are ‘working with Baker’ to find a deal?

Nobody else is being framed that way.

Geelong aren’t working with Bailey Smith to find a deal and so forth.

Just seems odd.

Why would Baker have any say at all in what we pay for him at the trade table?…

Wait a minute. Why are Essington allowed to match a bid for Kako within the top 40?
Did the AFL just change the rule this year, or is there another reason?

AFL HQ went back to pre-J.Ugle-Hagan rules after the debacle last year with L.Collard.

Official "reason" was to keep numbers of indigenous draftees from falling.

Doesn't help us at all, but it allows the Bombers to match on I.Kako in the first round this year.

Should just walk him to the PSD. unlikely tiggas will redraft him.

North may?
