I’d say getting Battle in for nothing changed their thinking

It’s a business, they’ve played it well. They owe Barrass nothing

Except they committed to him. TBs manager will be pissed and can have negative influence over future negotiations and interactions with Hawthorn.

Player managers have way too much influence nowadays - but in this instance, it may just help us.

Do we get back into this years draft if Barrass leaves us?
If so, who would trade with us, and what could we get for one of the following deals trading back into this years draft?
  • 2 future firsts between 15-23
  • 1 future first & 1 Future second
  • 1 future first & 2 Future seconds
If Warner leaves next year and nominates us, surely we play a similar game to what the Cats are with Bailey Smith (albeit for pick 1-5 as opposed to 17), so the futures are not as important as people are saying. Nice to have, but the deal gets done regardless.

I don't think Hawthorn really want him now. They got Battle. Barrass was the back up option they no longer need. I think they will just keep making offers they know we won't accept and then at the end of it shift the blame to us and say they made x number of offers and it is our fault for refusing them all. All they care about at this point is getting out of this with the blame being split between us and them rather than the stink being all on them.

Hasn't there been an embargo for hours? Deal could have been made hours ago and it gets announced at 4pm, no?
I bet we will just end up accepting their original offer after all this...

And then... When Hawk's finally come to the table with 2x F1's, ask for Spider Everett as well, then hang up.
Ask for two F1's and then add DGB in the last hour just to mess with them

Hawks future 1st and x2 future second rounders for Barrass? Hawks keep Carlton future 1st rounder. We go to next draft with x2 firsts and x3 seconds.
Ok kyle.

Tom Barrass - 2025 John Worsfold medallist.

Would people accept a F1 and F2 without the F3 of ours going to Hawks? So just Barrass for F1 and F2?
Would we? Likely yes. But given where we are, I would just stick with 2 x F1's or F1 + 2 x F2's and leave it in Hawthorn's court.

Hopefully someone has subdued Clarke. Bound and stuffed him in a cupboard until the trade deadline passes.

Sounds like he might attend the same "special Northbridge club" that Carbine Chaos is a member of.

Clubs don’t owe anything to players. This “commitment” word is BS. Only Weat Coast uses it and it doesn’t seem to impact other clubs

Essendon - despite being the acknowledged as being th worst club to deal with, get involved in plenty of deals

Same goes for Geelong

Probably getting a little late to faff around with the deal now.

2x F1 + DGB and we send back a F3. If they wait five minutes, it's a F4....
An F4 is not bad actually. Has no trade value but is a pick that can be used.
