Schoey is friends with current Eagles players like Barrass and Darling so it makes sense that he would have the correct info about their movements.

He has no info about our coach appointment or drafting/trading as his only sources (current Eagles players) don't have that info either.

Didn't Schofield say there's no way we're getting a 1st rounder for barrass?

Geelong delisting 7 players less than a week after missing a grand final by a whisker. That's how they do it.

They have a coach and they know that they are getting Bailey smith.
We haven't a coach or any ufa players who are committing to us at the moment or what our final picks are.
Why the hurry. I would like to see who might be available before i gut the list like some want.

Curtin kicked 12 goals in two games as a forward at Colts level this year.

Will Duursma is 191 cm. Only 1 cm taller than Zane who is considered a high half forward who can take a run in the midfield

He is the same height as Yeo, 1 cm shorter that Waterman who is a 3rd tall and 4 cm shorter than Patrick Cripps who is a midfielder

Against WA in the carnival, he played wing for a large % of the game.

Duursma is not a tall forward. He plays HBF and wing at times.

More wasted rookie list spots. If we did get extra spots from the AFL why waste them if we can have main list and rookie list spots. For what it's worth Jamieson to the rookie list for the year to see if something clicks is fine, we won't have much kpd depth anyway but sheed,no way.

The salary cap spend this year unless some very creative restructuring has happened is full. The club can't pay Sheed out. His injury still allows him to play football even if he will never be the same player. My last word was the foot & ankle condition is essentially incurable. He can't feel his foot properly and has no explosive power out of it. He is rehabbing after seeing multiple specialists in one last aim to be fully right for preseason and next year.

If it was to happen it would have to happen after final list lodgement and then he would need to retire opening up an SSP spot. That puts the contract money into next years cap.

If the club wanted to get really creative (They don't treat premiership heroes this way) then they would delist, hope someone picks him up (highly ****ing doubtful) and if not then take him with last rookie pick in the draft.

That then gives you an extra main list spot before the draft if the club needs spots and or wants to go that deep.

It's not a small contract.

They might end up losing someone to fit him in. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Brayshaw left should Freo nab Warner. He would become 4th banana at best and I don't know how that would sit with him at his age when he wants to lead and others to follow. He'll be up for contract around the same time, too.

If we got 2 x extra rookie list spots we could move both sheed and Jamo to the rookie list . We then have 2 extra senior list spots for cheap depth players in trade like Garcia / Robertson / carroll

Both sheed and jamo still play for the beagles .

Its important for beagles to become more competitive and successful so all our young developing guys start enjoying their footy .

Not getting pumped is important too

It's a bit disheartening watching Peel play off in prelims and grandfinals every year with young Freo players getting good exposure whereas we are stand alone and getting pumped with our kids learning nothing.

Dunno about Gus but when Hamish was asked a while back if Andrew would leave to go 'home' he said "Go where? Everyone's here."

Thanks! That's a crazy rule, I don't think a club could ever afford to pay someone out in the current year, unless they were banking salary credits for future years.

How on earth can we not have any money? Are we paying all of darlings and barrass's
Contracts?
Just read what Keys wrote. Still highly disappointing. Sheed shouldn't even get games with the beagles and I doubt he'd even want to considering his injuries

Good point although I do think 3,6,13,20,23 and Champion would be fine from a development point of view. Perhaps we could look to trade 20 or 23 into next year for a F1 on draft night and get the best of both worlds.

Keeping Hawks F1 next year enough. I recon to access picks next year we will be able to trade a F26/27 to get back into it if needed.

I honestly recon this is the draft to bring in the kids. Using our F1 to get into it and maintaining Hawks F1 is the play. We just need to hold firm with Hawthorn about 13 F1 without much going back

Yeah I like Hammer, but he does say a lot of things! - I guess circumstances might change or there’s the chance a player becomes a bit disillusioned at their club for whatever reason. I don’t know him personally, but players certainly have been known to pack up for a fresh start interstate

I think we could still delist him and rerookie him. Same outcome except we free up a senior list spot.

Having read an interview with Chad Warner I don’t think he plans on going anywhere.
He’s talking to Swans recruiting staff about his two youngest brothers. He wants them in Sydney to play with him. Does that sound like somebody planning on leaving??

That could also strengthen the argument that he is homesick if he’s reaching out to the club to put more family support around him?

Assuming that all the family except Chad and Corey are still based in WA, then surely Don can find some work for them. Not sure how good the younger brothers are but as long as they can kick then they can probably get a game for the Beagles with ease.
