So no player should ever be offered a 2 year deal?
Could you please look up how many on our list are or have been on 2 year deals and then get back to me.
I’d say you’d be shaped obovate.
Yes, let's offer every player on the list 2 years and watch all the good ones get poached by other teams.

You'll only ever be left with the shit ones.

Use your brain please.

Looking at the HUN annual ranking of top 40 under 24.

Here is the list

Points of reflection
  1. 75% taken in first round (I used up to pick 20 as the cut off)
  2. 45% taken top 10
  3. 33% taken top 3
  4. 18% taken as a rookie/MSD
  5. 15% compromised (F/S, NGA or Northern Academy)
  6. Norf and GWS were gutless not selecting the obvious number 1 at 1 (Daicos and Ashcroft) but well done Crows with Jamarra)
  7. No R3 or R4 picks
Note to club - we need to nail the R1 picks and especially the pointy end ones.

Looking for chesser in that list.

Edit: sarcasm.

LOL

“Come up with an example”

Comes up with example

“No, not that one”

As I said, it’s from 16 years ago when the rules were different.

Since uncontracted players were allowed to put themselves in the ND, I don’t think there’s been a single example of one not ending up where he wanted to go.

Lets hope we say no to all Richmond players. There was a reason why Richmond ended with the wooden spoon these players where non performers.
Richmond are hoping they can offload as many players as posibble whilst they have a bit of currency.
Take all our picks to the draft and we could possibly end up with 2 guns out of the picks we will have.

EXCLUSIVE: Jake Waterman has cashed in on a breakout season, earning close to $1m a season over the next five years after re-structuring his deal at West Coast.

West Coast lock in Jake Waterman on new five-year deal after breakout All-Australian season Surely this is a joke if its not WCE havent learnt anything over the past few years on long term deals

Don't waste top picks or invest so much time when there is obviously nothing there!!

Paywall busted Jake Waterman article. 'Close to a million' a year for one decent season is crazy. This first part of the contract is guaranteed money and the 'second part' is incentive heavy...whatever the hell that means by the length of his contract being in parts.

$700 thousand with incentives should be more than enough to pay for waterman off the back of one seasons form… garbage list management

Closest you've come to acknowledging his season?

There was also this bit

The 26-year-old had significant interest from interstate clubs including Melbourne who offered a five-year deal on similar money and were understood to be willing to go higher to pry him out of the Eagles

It’s not like he’s being overpaid compared to what others were prepared to offer

Snakey is 100% worth $700,000 a season. Yes, he took it up many notches, but he also had a clean run of games to do it.

Keep in mind we keep talking about the “salary floor”. Which is it? Throw money at players to keep them or let them go? They can’t both be meltworthy decisions

Agree

Average wage will be over 500k by 2027. An extra 200k a year plus some incentives isn’t over the top for a bloke coming off an AA year. Good luck to him.

As someone else asked … is there a single example you can point to of an uncontracted player not getting to the club he nominates?

Not since Nick Stevens and Jade Rawlings in the mid-2000s, before players could go into the ND.

Come up with an example. I’ll wait.

Not sure I can remember a time when pick 1 in the PSD has had a player they wanted to keep asking for a trade either ? Unless I missed one

And the point of this post is what exactly?

Six of the 13 players taken before Chesser are also missing from that list and the only player taken after him on there is Dempsey who Geelong took in the rookie draft
