It's true - Fremantle would think they deserve more and North would want to pay less on exposed form. Exactly why an imaginary pick 19 would satisfy both parties.

In terms of actual worth I think about 25-30.
To help this supposed trade along, I’d be willing to swap Norths imaginary 19 for WC’s imaginary 27 and 38. Im a good person though.

I am thinking Essendon is a possible target for a trade of picks (I hear the screams "Oh Flock No - that means Dodoro")

The Essendon list is actually in pretty good shape. A good amount of youth thanks to the exodus 2 years ago and to his credit, Dodoro has always banked talls so they are well stocked. Wright coming good this year is a major boost.

What they lack is speed. Either Sheezel or Tsatas would really suit their list build. No need to overpay for 1 when they can get pick 2 and one will be there. There are loads of inside mids but the Dons mids are all quite slow. To be assured of one of them, they are going to need to trade up.

They will need point for Davey Jnr, a quick forward who can take a turn through the midfield and is tipped he will be bid on as a late first rounder. That makes Dons pick 22 for sale.

It is a pretty simple and fair trade - 2 and 38 for 4 and 22. It is even in Dodoro's favour. Being so obvious, I guess it means Dodoro will not bite.

At 4 (becomes 5), one of Wadlaw, Cadman or Phillipou would be there so a slide back of 2 places means little. The real benefit is the possibility of jumping from 38 to 22 which opens up so many more options for us.

It is massively in Essendons favour.

We dropped from 12 to 14 last year and got pick 26.

This scenario we drop 2 to 4 and also need to add 38 to get 22?

Any downgrade of pick 2 should net a 2nd all on its own. GWS will do it just to stop Essendon or Hawthorn or someone else cutting in front of them for Cadman or Sheezle.

Meek has formally told the Dockers he is exploring his trade options. Probably a trade that doesn’t get down until the last day. Would be a nice get.

Eagles, Giants and Demons listed as the clubs interested.

Surely wouldn’t go to the Dees if they get Grundy.

This may be obvious, but if Norf get pick 19, which is an end of first round or start of second round, depending which way you want to look at it, would they take that pick on night one or night two?

Pick 19 is traditionally the opening pick for night two of the draft.

Oh it is as clear as mud as per usual with the AFL.

An end of round 1 compensation pick is taken on the first night, as part of the round 1 picks.

However, it doesn't actually count as a round 1 pick (for the purpose of 2-in-4 rules) even though it is very much treated in every other way as round 1.

simple... right?

Having the opening pick for night 2 is quite a bonus. So the AFL will decide when to stop night one based on which team they want to give a leg-up.

That pick is currently held by Richmond which will almost certainly make its way to GWS

Whether they retain or ontrade it becomes anyones guess

Although we swapped 12 for 14 and 26, at the time Port (and perhaps WC) would've been thinking that 26 would be more like 32-35 with some matched bids. Just something to keep in mind.

Astute pick swap by WC again. Didn't quite make out like bandits which was looking the case in the first half of this season, but when you consider we got our man in Chesser anyway, it's a huge bonus. Add Culley to that list also and we've done nicely to kick off a rebuild.

Geez. The Freo list is looking very unstable. Player coming and going all over the shop.

Wont be surprised if they go backwards next season as players take time to gel. Then again the replacement in the best 22 are mainly guys who are already there.

So not Lucky's dad's rules?

Do we know why there seems to be a player exodus from Freo then? They are playing well, made finals and should be serious contenders but at least 5 are wanting to leave (their own home state as well).

Lobb
Tucker
Acres
Meek
Logue

Is there a cultural problem (or some other issue) under Bell?

On SM-G996B using BigFooty.com mobile app
Tucker can't get a game .

Logue is a spud and freo wont pay him the ridiculous price he wants .

Acres was on the delist pile before this year . Freo put performance based clauses in his contract and he doesn't like that

Lobb wants a longer contract

Meek wants game time and slides down the pecking order when Jackson arrives

Yep, and it also needs the context of who is available (and whether players are rated at a similar level or not).

Last year Sinn and Hobbs were the 2 big names left on the board when we did the trade - with the Bombers probably taking Sinn and neither of the interstate clubs taking Hobbs. So Port REALLY needed to jump up the board to get a player in that range (knowing we were taking Chesser) or take the risk with Hobbs.

Again, this year, it might be more of a top 4/5/6 after Ashcroft, but some of the player types will be gone earlier. Sheezel, Busslinger and Cadman will be very much needs-based-picks in some teams eyes (i.e. rated similarly, so grab the type of player we need - not suggesting any are a reach in this range). So possibly a team might want to jump up and we might have 2 or 3 players we are happy to take a couple of spots later.

Are we the only club where the members get absolutely no say in that sort of thing?

Think yourself lucky you had your chance to be ignored with the annual member survey.

I didn't get sent one and filled out my father's instead.

He said some truly disgusting things about the club imo.
