Not saying this will be our best 22 in round 1 but by midway through the season I’d hope to see something like this

Cole, Barrass, Hurn

Duggan, McGovern, Hunt

Chesser, Yeo, Gaff

Hewett, Darling, Cripps

Ryan, Allen, B.Williams

Nic, Shuey, Kelly

Burgiel, Hough, Bazzo, Ginbey

HAPPY with draft Barnett is a good player just hope drafting him does not mean we dont go after
Mitch Edwards next year.
He’ll be off the board by pick 18.

Our off season

Started with draft picks 2, 20, 26, 38, 74 before compensation, FA and bidding shenanigans

Departures :

Traded - Rioli
Retired - Kennedy, Redden, Strnadica
Delisted - Nelson, Langdon, Winder, Trew, Joyce, Naish, Dixon

Additions :
DFA - Hunt
Draft - Ginbey (9), Hewett (14), Barnett (23), Burgiel (29), Long (58)
Cat B Rookies - Dewar, Baker (TBC)
Rookie Draft - TBA (2 places left)

Addressed our most pressing need (midfield) with size and/or pace
Addressed a medium term need with the best ruck in the draft
Replaced a departing small forward
Brought in two development players for free

Added a F2 and F3 draft pick (tied to Port) whilst retaining all our future picks

No ****ing about. No overthinking

Well done to the recruiting team

First of all what a ******* draft, getting Noah Long that late is mint.

With Gilbert still on the board I’d be happy to let go of Trew now.

Didn’t expect him to still be there, only other player I’d take over him is possibly Hagan.

Definitely think if Winder has come back in good knick he needs to be rerookied with the 2nd pick
Yep, agreed.

Long was a great late pick, good versatility between midfield and fwd.

Gilbey, 100% worth the risk with our first rookie selection as he has huge talent. Sorry, but I think he takes Trews spot.

Winder definitely deserves another season.

Yeo should be playing HBF and Shuey HFF. Would much prefer Sheed, Chesser, Culley, Hewett in there

Yea Sam Gilbey i honestly think if he had played the whole year would of been picked up
in the 15 to 19 mark

He is one of the best kicks and is very quick

Yeah am happy to let go of Trew with Gilbey there, thought he’d be taken late in the ND which was possibly our plan before Long slipped through.

Hopefully Trew stays on at the WAFL eagles as I’m keen to see how he goes with a clean run.

Is very capable on the inside but seems to lack that outside game (possibly endurance), if he can add that he’s lost worthy imo.

I certainly had him around that mark, 15-25. He has had his injuries though, but if we take him and can get him right we'll get a great player.

Just realised Sam Gilbey hasnt been picked up yet he has to be our first pick
Jack Cleaver would be our Hurn replacement
Baxter is one i really like as well as south freo's Toby McQuilkin.
I would be happy with either Sam or Jack at our first rookie pick

Excellent offseason so far. Any movement in strength and conditioning? Arguably our #1 priority this offseason.

I 110% agree, but don’t see it happening
Maybe not Shuey but definitely Yeo. They’d already made the move for the Geelong and Richmond games before he injured himself again. He was awesome against Geelong - think they know it’s his best chance to really impact games with his body like it is now.
