Wosh, can you please tell me how Toddy_Nesbitt gets out of his post approval limbo? His dad called me and he's really upset he can't use his account to come on here and get the back slapping he deserves for the recent draft win.
Toddy looks good to come off the bench

I love coming home from work, scrolling through 10-15 or so pages and just watching some poster spiral. WestCoast88 smells like broken dreams
Even without the melts this thread moves 10-15 pages everyday. I don't know how you all keep up with this thread!

These 4 are public schools as well I think:

12. Brisbane – Jaspa Fletcher
Brisbane Lions Academy – Sherwood – Brisbane State High School

25. Essendon – Lewis Hayes
Eastern Ranges – Lysterfield – Rowville Secondary College

37. Hawthorn – Henry Hustwaite
Dandenong Stingrays – Rosebud — Rosebud Secondary College

40. Sydney – Caleb Mitchell
Murray Bushrangers – Yarrawonga Secondary College – Yarrawonga

With Brisbane State HS having a select entry policy (academic, music or sport proficiency will get you in) - so essentially private
Rowville I know used to have a footy pathway program - not sure if that is still running

Certainly fair to say no-one in the top-25 was from a general entry public school, and possibly no-one in the top 35 (as above, not 100% sure on Rowville).
As you said, Brisbane State High is essentially a Private school, without the fees.

When I was in high school, back in the 80’s, BSHS competed in the top tier Private school competition, against all the top/expensive Private schools.

However, going to a Private school in Brisbane, as an AFL footballer doesn’t mean much, as AFL has only recently been introduced to the Private school system (probably only 4 or 5 years ago).

Yeah. Brisbane high's massive and the facilities are amazing there.

The kids certainly look like private school kids.

I did my predictions before all this, before them being favourites, before the pick swap before they were even in our draft range. Sorry but you are late to the party. Many called BS on me saying it wouldn't happen now many say it was likely to have happened anyway, well they didn't say that then and you can't have it both ways. Funny how before what I said wouldn't happen and now that it has people say it was likely to have happened anyway. You have changed your tune now but I didn't. I've been consistent all the way whether you like it or not. Enjoy the 🍋
Geez mate will you give it a rest! Yes mate you are fantastic! Just let it go!!!

Not quite tall enough, has barely developed in 2 years and not very athletic. Injury history this year. His mum still expected him to be drafted first round. I had to have a quiet chat to my aunt to let her know it was highly unlikely he would be drafted this year.

As a country kid from WA he needs to focus hard on the WAFL and really apply himself and he is a good chance of being picked up in 2-3 years time. He gets a lot more ball around the ground and is a good kick so has more going for him than say a Scott Jones. It's now all on him.

Even with all that I had him as second best on ground for the Academy side vs Collingwood VFL.
Broadbent’s mum is your aunt?

Scan the first few new posts to the bottom of the page, adjudicate their cromulence and then press next page or last page depending on said cromulence.

He's not a recruiter mate, he did psych evaluations for the club.

Clearly you prefer to comment before reading.

And it doesn't matter after the fact.
I noticed back when I made my predictions you commented on 4 October that west coast never prioritise WA talent over interstate and eagles always take best available in response to me. Your argument has sure changed today.

I've never been afraid to take on those in power. Always been a renegade a rebel. I speak truth to power what can I say.

But you didn't come in peace, a long-fabled error.

Yes you could have all that but instead you opt to be a full time poster. Someone who is a professional recruiter or works in a professional role acts professionally. They don't air their dirty laundry online. I'm sure Carlton are very happy that someone who works for them is constantly posting their inner draft strategies ?
Ok.

No one knew he worked for Carlton until after the draft.

Secondly, discussing such stuff after the draft means sfa.

I attended the Lions, Brisbane draft night function last year. We were asked not to post anything online during the draft, or that night, but were told it was ok to discuss it the day after.

There were at least half-a-dozen BigFooty members there, along with the local AFL reporter (who was busy texting Twomey all night), and quite a few sponsor connected people.

The recruiter running the night told us before the draft started who we were drafting in the first round.

He also told us who each team was going to select, when it was their turn, up until GWS’s pick 15, who he had no idea who they were selecting. The only team he had a question on, before GWS, was Richmond at 9, who said their last intel was that Richmond was choosing between Gibcus and Hobbs.

Most recruiting teams have a fair handle on what other teams are planning. Especially for the first half of the first round.

I know of scouts for two other clubs who post on BigFooty. Everyone on those club boards know who they are, because they’re public about their role, but they don’t post confidential stuff, just their opinion of kids, who they like, etc.

Which is nothing more than WCE_phil did all season here.

There are many people employed by AFL clubs who are on BigFooty, there are even more ex-employees, and members who have family employed ar clubs.

There are parents of players. WA’s Nick Robertson was drafted to the Lions in 2013. His dad was a regular poster on our board.

Jack Scrimshaw’s dad is a regular poster on Hawthorn’s board, and was a regular poster on Gold Coast’s board before that.

We have a Lions insider post on our board regularly. No one on our board questions his intel, or his legitimacy, because he’s given us the heads up about stuff to many times for him not to be legit.

We have an ex recruiter on our board, an ex club analytics guy, there is a current employee of another club on our board.

There are quite a few members who have connections to the club.

There are even more who are involved at QAFL clubs, who hear stuff through the footy grape vine.

Then there are nuffies like me, who go and watch training, give updates on what I see, and sometimes occasionally hear.

Sometimes fans can’t help but be fans, regardless of who employs them.
