Hmm I don't remember that, but I do remember we told Mitch Brown he wouldn't get a new contract leading to his wife signing with a Melbourne netball team then offering him a contract extension before then giving his spot to Sam Mitchell.

Yeah Ebert for sure - but I'd label that more family connection as you say with go home factor as well. In the Ginbey example there's literally nothing tying him to Freo except general support for the club as a kid (which I guess is up to us how harshly to judge him for that )

Would’ve been a nice addition a couple of years ago when we were still contending.

Genuine speed, X factor, goal kicking mid and a match winner.

That said, would cost a mint and obviously would be a waste now that we are rebuilding.

I don’t doubt the Eagles were interested. That said, I suspect Bolton’s manager was simply leveraging our interest to improve his Richmond offer. Doubt Shai himself ever wanted to move.

I’m hoping he takes Lyons spot in the team.

I’ve been out watching training, and Dev is right up there now in our top 5 or 6 runners. He’s got genuine speed, and gut run.

We need two defensive mids in our team to allow all the down hill skiers to do their thing forward of centre.

Fletcher will be a wing.

Ashcroft should replace Zorko in the long term.

But our midfield is getting crowded.

Funnily enough I was talking to someone who just happens to be a family member of Lyons.

Was told his OP wasn’t great at all but the lions kept playing him when he clearly wasn’t fit & ran him into the ground.

Got to the point where Lyons old man was pretty angry about it & told Lyons he needed to stand up to the club/Medical staff & tell them enough was enough. Sounds like they where not that stoked about the mis-management by the club.
