Is it the Calm Before The Storm?
We should of retired Gaff & Hurn this off season.
There are a lot playing for their careers this season.

Nic Nat & Shuey injured again this pre season.
We'd like to think Yeo will return to his best.
If we start the year off poorly retire them and grab the best talent mid season. We need it. Going to be a brand new engine room in 2 yrs.
Going to retire Gaff 2 years before his contract ends?

Shuey played the last game and hurn was second in b&f last year.

Let's be realistic please.

I was all for retiring shuey and hurn(gaff moreso if he wasnt under contract) last offseason but looking at our draft haul we did really well with Ginbey, hewitt, barnett, burgiel and long, I'm not sure what more we couldve achieved with late draft picks.
It also gives us some easy list spots to open up at the end of this season
I guess the only negative now is some of those guys playing for their careers this year might not get so much of an opportunity to show their wares
Guys like West, foley, witherden, oneil and rotham should hopefully get a chance to show what they can do under a new game plan

Being realistic is over rated in here.

We tried to send Gaff off to the suns during trade week but Miguel Sanchez was having none of it 🤣

Only vaguely rings a bell, which rocket surgeon was insisting that was an option?

Soooo what’s the betting that North lose McKay to free agency and receive band 1 compensation.

Yep. Band 1 compo to offset them asking for compensation picks again

If he was to go to Carton surely they couldn't afford him?

Would mean they’d likely lose De Koning as they wouldn’t have the room for him if they’re paying McKay to shift

De Koning then goes to Geelong to join his brother because they don’t appear to have a salary cap.

They all get house/land package deals on the Coast and get to have BBQ's with Danger and his missus.
Apparently you can buy a home on the beach for ten bucks in Moggs Creek.

Interesting, maybe we can pry Logan McDonald out of them
Interesting watching the Stan series about player agents, Logans agent mentions he's a WA kid and West Coast and the other irrelevant team are always an option for him. Sounded like it would happen at some stage.

It was based on the trade season for 2021, but they spoke about him being behind Buddy and he's not a ruck/fwd so opportunities would be limited. Might get to him.

Being left out of the last big dance is not a good way to retain players.

Mind you I hope Logan toughs it out and uses that he wasn't good enough as inspiration. From all count she is doing just that. I want him when he is a free agent. Not needing to give up multiple picks for him now. Given he is in contract until end of 2024 and it will only be 4 years service, we will have a long time to wait for FA. If he starts to fire now, surely the Swans will be in a position to cough up decent coin to extend. If he is not firing by then, do we want him?

The Swans have locked away Mills and Heaney on LT deals. The McCartin brothers will be looking for promotions as will Florent, Rowbottom, Blakey, Guilden and Warner. I suspect they have had to suppress salaries with Buddy's deal and I cannot think that Jacinta allowed Buddy to be taking much of a salalry reduction for 2023.

I would rather we pick up Curtin this November to join Oscar and I am hoping Jack Williams will start to come good. It would have been horrid for him in the Beagles last year as a lone target in the forward line and in a team that struggled to get I50's.
