Last year there was so much talk about Hewett and that he was holy grail, now not so much.
I have my own profession, family commitments and live in Broome so only know what I read and occasionally see, definitely no expert, I’m also a parochial WA and WC fan and would really like to see a bit more local based talent selected.
If there comes to a tossup between players I’d like to see the local talent selected.

Dont forget that next year we need to pony up a pick to get Angus Sheldrick in the blue and gold

Sheldrick and Warner for [insert 2023 whipping-boy that the Eagles board believes isn't good enough to get a game for us but is worth a 2nd rounder at the trade table] and our 4th round rookie pick.

Would cost a fortune to get Warner Bros. 😭 We've missed our chance there, I reckon.

Who nominates West Coast? Appears a bit thin.

Thin you say ……… might need a 🔬to see who nominates West Coast.

Sadly we are now an anti-destination Club.

But don’t worry Trev is working feverishly to rectify that problem.

The foundations are well in place for the rebuild.

AFL : Second last % only away from the spoon.
AFLW : Got the spoon
WAFL : Got the spoon

But only a bees dick away from the trifecta

So reassuring to know we are in safe hands .

Port want a big defender . It's a wonder they haven't considered this bloke.
We might consider this bloke in the Vardy mold ex Geelong.

Geelong utility Esava Ratugolea is “one to watch” this trade period, according to SEN, despite being contracted to the Cats for another season.
Trading with geelong....🤔

The Meek situation is an interesting one.

Basically our only hope of getting him would be if he wants to stay in Perth and tells Fremantle ‘either WC or I’ll stay another year’. He’s a country Victorian so there would be no ‘stay home’ factor I would assume - it’d come down to offering him a very strong contract and rolling the dice that he is the guy to replace Nic Nat.

That all sounds a bit bold for our club, so you can probably rule him out coming our way, especially with other interest around.

I think Freo would rather retain him regardless, if Lobb goes their 2nd ruck stocks start to look thin with not much beyond Darcy (cops his share of injuries) and Jackson who I’d imagine they have bigger plans for - you don’t drop $900k+ on a backup ruckman.

If I was Melbourne, I’d be getting Meek thrown in and not bothering with Brodie Grundy’s ridiculously long contract.

If I was Freo, I’d be eyeing off one of the pile of picks GWS are about acquire from Richmond….or just keep him, since he’s under contract anyway.

Over to you Lloyd…

Also it's been a long, long time since the two WA clubs traded with each other.

It might be possible as part of a 3rd deal (i.e. Jackson), but I can't see a 'Meek for pick X' deal being done between the 2 clubs.

Also true.

Pick X would have to be very, very appealing - and rightly so, he’s under contract.

So we’d need to pay Meek overs to pry him out and then overs at the trade table, just to get him through the door. He’s shown a bit and could prove a great pick up but I just don’t see that happening this year.

Melb have enquired about Meek , I think he will be in the Jackson trade package ..
Freo have Benning on the list and a raw NGA prospect should they want in William Wolf ..

back to the future great scott GIF

In that case I find unlikely freo will be kind on the trade table.

No one is ever kind at the trade table …….

Except Us.

When Geelong are involved, we don’t even ask for lube, we just let them go in dry.

Now I know most groups of supporters feel the same way about their trade team.

We invariably pay overs, but in doing so we generally get the missing pieces that we have needed.

Going to be interesting to see if we hold out and play a strong hand with Junior, or just capitulate and reluctantly take the shitty deal Port offers us.

For me it’s prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

However if you don’t ever make a stand, then you will be continually treated with contempt and only ever offered scraps.

We can only hope that Trev takes the Junior defection personally and then arks up and goes in strong.
He can be a tough , stubborn, belligerent bastard when he wants to…….I suggest now would be a good time to be so.

They wear prison bars for a reason so we need to be wary, of the potential assault and burglary.

I'd rather Ben Cousins come outta retirement than half the spuds you lot mention.
Rhylee West ffs like we need another Vic **** who hasn't played AFL since 2020.
We need A graders who can run and break lines.
Might as well be the East Coast Junkyard out West.
This club needs to do a Hawthorn style clean up.

I'd rather Steele Sidebottom & Scott Pendlebury than Shuey, Gaff & Redden right now.
Let this sink in just a little.
There is a massive difference in the "Current" Calibre of Senior players. Our's are Busted their's aren't.
