I think you may have misunderstood mate - was actually trying to support your right to not like the system by saying you're old school - wasn't a dig at you not being up to date with game or being an old person. 🙂

The joke about the music was just a bit of fun.

Cheers mate. Lets just hope we land some good footballers.

The Cats getting 7 and GWS doing that pick swap leaves the following:

Cats trade 7 and future second with GWS for Bruhn and 15
  • values Bruhn as pick 17
  • Cats not getting Clark at 7
  • rationale Cats keep 15 or 18 for Henry and take 15 or 18 to the draft
  • GWS shift points to 2023

GWS trade 7 and 12 to Eagles for 2 and future R4 (slight advantage = premium for having 2 and 3)

West Coast take 7 12 20 and 26 to the draft
7 = one Phillipou, McKenzie, Clarke, Bussslinger
12 = one of Gibney, Hotton, Hustwaite, Hewett, Humphrey
20 = one of Keeler, Barnett, Weddle
26 = one of Clarke, J Ryan, Burgiel

We try to get the Rioli compo pick as a future (not sure how)

Cats walk away with Bowes, Bruhn, Henry and pick 18 (pick 38 and 3 x R3)

AFL has provided helps to the Gold Coast which is understandable. However, the release of Brodie to the Docker last year and Bowes to Geelong this year has created unfairness to the other clubs.

Difficult to compete with hopefully the wheel turns soon .
More time and money into Giants and GC academy players might be a good idea .

Some good news at last.

Any rumours of West Coast defender Josh Rotham being shopped around by the Eagles this off-season have been shot down.

Rotham’s manager Jason Dover told The West Australian he was happy at the club and the Eagles were happy to keep him.

Rotham has two years left to run on a three-year contract extension, signed at the end of 2021.

Fantastic.. thats Jackson Nelson levels of list clogging going on right there…. How was he worth a three year deal…

Absolute tin pot operation.

They’ll clear all this money to re-sign Rowell, King and Anderson who will bail anyway and then they’ll have a bunch of cap space again to over pay what they have left or throw silly money at someone who is not really worth it….and then will need to cull their contracts in a few years anyway because they’ve made another mess of it.

Have you seen how much a pick upgrade costs this year ?

27 for 33 + 43 + 51

15 for 21 + future 2nd also valued at 21

If a team wants pick 2 they need to cough up a massive amount by the look of it .

I’m aware… 6 and Hawks future 1st which will almost certainly be a top 10 pick in a better draft for 2 and 20 is a good deal for us imo

We still could end up with 15

Would we be happy with something like this.

WCE Give - 2 & 33 (Rioli pick from port)

GWS Give - 3 & 15

Works out that GWS pay a surplus of Pick 51. We still get a crack at an elite talent and grab the extra first rounder.

Leaves us with a hand of 3,15,20,26 & 40

That’d be great, if North don’t take Cadman I could see GWS being open to something like that

Personally I'd rather the afl open up trade restrictions more.

The whole you gotta take so many r1 picks in a 4 year window and restrictions on f2 / f3 If you trade a f1 is just silly imo.

I'd even open up trading future picks 2 years in advance. Let clubs run how they see fit...

Except for suns and gws.. just close these clubs for good already.
