Shuey should have been out of the midfield 2 years ago and playing minutes at the end of quarters

Yeo is perma injured and will play back next year

Gaff is a potato

Shred is good but slow and cant tackle

We arent short on kp any where near the shortage of mids and have a proven history of picking kp players at later picks

We literally dont have a midfield.

Recently we drafted Chesser, Hough, Clark, Culley.

We have O'Neil, L Edwards, Kelly, Sheed and SPS as mid aged mids.

And about to draft 3 more out of 4 or 5 picks.

Do you just want to draft mids with every pick?

Sheppard, Kennedy, Redden, Nelson and Langdon makes 5 list spots.

We have 4 picks plus Jayden Hunt.

So we're squared away with Winder and Hurn the two main listers without contracts. So I'd say Winder has a reprieve, or perhaps equally likely, we're sounding out a DFA before he officially cut him. Hurn plays on.

Do you need to use a top pick on a key defender? Would be interesting to see the average pick value of all the KPP in the league.

Since 2000 (can't be bothered going back further) we haven't taken a KPD in the first round of a draft. This excludes Mitch Brown who was drafted and debuted as a forward and redeveloped into a CHB.

EDIT: I just realised Darren Glass was drafted in the first round of 1999.

We currently have 33 players with confirmed contracts, 34 if you count Hurn. One of those players (Culley) is a rookie

So we have 8 list positions available (5 main, 3 rookie)

The contract status of West, Winder and Trew is yet to be confirmed

It means we downgrade them under contract and add them to the rookie list on the same pay.

It opens another spot on the main list to use a Pick in the main draft.
