Teal or Gilbey

Teal with first pick and Gilbey with second - run the risk with Sam

I think Teal will go early mid season. I would pick Ryan in the first and Gilbey in the second. Gilbey and Teal to me just about equal on talent buy I think Gilbey is 2 preseasons away from AFL so can pick up a decent talent very cheap.

Kobe Ryan with the right development is a genuine best 22 Cripps replacement.

Buller isn't Afl quality, Maric is a tweener playing overage as a stronger body.

There's a few others but not much im confident on ATM.

100% this

Buller kicking a concern for mine… let Freo have both of him and Maric

Buller is the closest thing to AFL quality in the WAFL right now. Looks a different level.

Are you serious?
Couldn't disagree more. Maybe you should actually watch his games.

He's a dead average kick of the ball and relies on his size in the WAFL to do damage. Against AFL quality opposition I don't think he's a KPF's arseh*le if i'm being blunt at the level.

He might make a decent role player at a team that desperately needs a tall target who are in contention or for someone like North who have very little in the way of tall targets.

He's a good mark, is bullocking and leads well. Doesn't have the athleticism or repeat forward craft to get separation from his man at AFL level imo. He's also a 50/50 kick.

I'd rather draft players who have the potential of being top 20 players on a contending AFL list even if they are much less likely to make it, but they need a higher talent ceiling than buller.

I would take Gilbey with my first pick watching claremont reserves he has got his pace back after injury and that was my concern
He has blistering pace with a beautiful kick.
I also wouldnt mind us looking at Robert Hanson junior his defensive pressure is Phil Matera like at times

Ahhh well Phillip. Let's see what hindsight brings us.

I've been impressed with Gilbeys comeback. I don't think anyone else will jump on him with him needing significant time to come on.

I have a rookie watch on Hanson based on what he produces this year. have only seen him play twice and there were a couple of questions marks from his youth. Looks to be making a run at it this year. If he has a spectacular next few weeks he could move onto the MSD radar.

Considering West Coast are looking More more likely to get the number one pick in this year‘s draft do you think trading your pick 1 for key defender Denver Granger the pick six from 2020 and hawthorns pick two or three depending where we finish for pick one would be a fair deal.

No as he's projecting as a third tall or bust and we have Bazzo for that role.

We need a next generation full back however I think we have a great prospect for that role even if it wasn't what he was drafted as.

If wce have pick 1 and you have pick 3 i would trade it for 3 and your future first.

You know what as a Hawks fan I would do that trade in an instant. I would even through Denver Granger Barras in as the steak knives to the deal by the way I think Denver is going to be an absolute star once he really feels out and knows what he could do

IMO if we finish bottom, we need to take Harley Reid. He is projecting to be much better & a safer bet than 2 (or more) other players taken at other picks.
I would prefer quality over quantity at this stage. And he looks like a genuine match winner.
If we don't, I'm more than happy to take Moir or best available.

Agreed.

If Reid is truly a generational talent, we must take him.

Only a godfather offer at the trade table would sway me otherwise.

Sorry but I have zero confidence in our Elvis Presley lookalike list manager. We traded pick 2 AND Willie Rioli for later picks in a deal with Port and North. If we didn’t do that deal and traded Rioli without throwing in pick 2 we would have had Sheezel (who went pick 3).

I think it will go down as a nightmare for the Eagles in years to come.

The same Sheezel who desperately wanted to stay in Melbourne, which is why GWS traded up to pick Cadman, instead of risking a pick on either him or Wardlaw?

I think the vibe is to take local talent over interstate because clubs are so scared they’ll get “homesick”. Hence the Eagles going Ginbey and Hewett over Sheezel. Only reason I can justify this insanity. Or our scouting being terrible.

Definitely wouldn’t surprise me if they split up Reid into multiple picks predominantly from WA, or maybe even try use the high pick to lure the likes of Aaron Naughton or Tim English back.
