NN: Pick 3 MSD?

If we can afford it, and if we have persistent long term injuries like we do now still in 4 weeks then taking 3 picks should not be off the table. We have some young guys that need a week off but can’t due to availability.

That said, any 2nd tier guys who aren’t particularly young get 6 month contracts. No 18 month options for plodders

1) no coach is going to give XON a shot ahead of Shuey, Yeo etc. To suggest otherwise is plain daft.
2) Gaff has been asked to play inside because he was a liability on the wing. Teams identified him is the weak link for fast ball movement and played certain players on him.
3) reserves are a shambles because they can't actually field a wafl team
4) missed NGA - whom?
5) you have to have certain players in certain positions. Rotham plays a key back coz there's nobody left with height. Same with Allen in ruck 2 years back. Exactly who were you going play in Rothams position?

1) Rubbish. Seniors exposure has been part of player development forever. Unless you're suggesting you should only give youth a game when they're ready to hit the ground running?
2) So he's a weak link on the wing, the only position he has ever played. The clubs solution was to play him as an inside mid. How has that worked out so far?
3) And who's fault is that? Blame the WAFL? What an inept administration we have running the club when they can't broker a half decent WAFL agreement for our club.
4) Erasmus and Arthur Jones. The former wasn't followed up and the latter didn't understand the system so bypassed it. The only 2 decent NGA prospects in our zone to actually get drafted and we weren't even in the frame. But that's ok, Erasmus was drafted with too early a pick and Jones...i'm sure you can conjure up an excuse there.
5) Rotham has been played as a defender for most of his 7 years on the list and shown he's not a defender. Don't pretend our current predicament excuses where he's been played for years. Meanwhile Allen, our only A-grade talent, played in the ruck was a genius move. Didn't bang his body up at all.

So many correct decisions the club has made, and yet here we are. 5 wins from 40 games, 1 from 22 in the WAFL and 3 from 19 in the AFLW (and that's if you buy into the marketing gimmick that they are and choose to believe they're an extension of the WCE).

If there was anytime for a club to take 2 or more in the mid season draft, it’s us this year.

The way we’re headed we’ll be lucky to have 6 players pop out of the inflated chook on game day by round 14.
Yeah anything less would be pretty stupid considering cripps is due back round 21

Is it a different situation to a key position player like Oscar Allen who has been discussed as having the versatility to potentially play through the midfield, or could Curtin realistically be a midfielder at AFL level?
Curtin is a highly flexible player with a good kick and tank for his size.

I don’t think there is a big enough sample size to comment on his ability to play mid (obviously KPF/KPD previously) just yet, but this weekends game was promising.

I know Curtin’s colts coach quite well, I’ll ask him about that next time I see him. What the coach has repeatedly said is that Dan is a good team man and very unselfish, so he’ll do whatever he needs to for the good of the team.

Hey lads, just wanted to pop in.

Negatives, positives and comments.

Firstly get the negative out of the way
"Harley Reid is a massive flight risk apparently. His manager already telling WC not to bother."

This leads to my comments, how does it make you all feel, and realistically, who's your draft target then, do you trade down? and who do you trade with? Hawthorn? North? Melbourne?

And the positive.

Daniel Curtin, best key defender in this draft by a fair way, 197cm? really well built, good tank, good agility/speed considering his size especially, played midfield aswell and dominated with 26 disposals, 20 kicks, 18 contested, 12 clearances & 11 tackles.

The opposite reports came out this week, Reid happy to come to the Eagles.

You know we're just plebs posting opinions on here, right? We don't make draft/list decisions? There's no need to pull the wool over our eyes and hope he slips through to the Hawks. And besides, you guys make tanking look effortless, so I'm sure you'll have pick #1 in the draft anyway.
