The opposite reports came out this week, Reid happy to come to the Eagles.

You know we're just plebs posting opinions on here, right? We don't make draft/list decisions? There's no need to pull the wool over our eyes and hope he slips through to the Hawks. And besides, you guys make tanking look effortless, so I'm sure you'll have pick #1 in the draft anyway.
I'm just going off what i've heard, could be different.

And i'd assume if West Coast get Pick 1 and that is the case, they'd be trading to others with more draft capital (Melbourne).

Didn’t even come in Peace I mean it’s the least you can do
I do come in peace, just wanted some opinions based off a possible rumour.

Would you be picking him up either way, would you trade for draft capital (Melbourne)

Thoughts on Daniel Curtin (local talent gun).

We need quality and quantity, not sure if I'd do it (obviously depends on what we're offered and how other players are rated) but I think we'll seriously look at splitting the pick again.
From reports on here Curtin's been a bit underwhelming so far this season, the game yesterday he apparently played in the midfield which is why he had so many disposals and tackles

It’s all good it just a running joke in here “I come in peace”

Don’t believe rumours the club will work through those issues if there are any when they interview Harley.

The club has generally backed itself in to keep interstate talent if they are willing to come across and have a go.

As for Curtin no idea I don’t watch the WAFL colts mainly focus on the Coates league and national carnival.

In all honesty I actually don’t know why Hawthorn supporters are so keen on Reid I reckon while he is quality it’s the last thing you need is a midfielder.

Hahaha fair enough!

Agree, although Reid is a generational talent.

I don't "believe it" but i do think it's likely, nothing more based off a pure feeling, but as i think it was Bangers? (draft viewer) who's said he is a professional about how he goes about it so it could well and truly be nothing.

West Coast are definitely one of the best interstate teams in terms of keeping talent, and bringing talent back.

I have no idea about the level of WAFL Colts but he was dominant in that game as a mid, but has been a freak as a key defender, the academy curtain raiser last year he was BOG.

I actually brought this up purely because it's a good talking point if you finish last, do you trade for Melbourne's possible 3 firsts if Reid doesn't want to go to WA?

Its a boardism on here, just run with it :straining:. We actually like oppo supporters posting on here if it's constructive.

Moir is a bit favourite on here, a few of the guys who follow youth leagues are big wraps on him and he has ties to WA (Eagle fan, mum from WA, grandparents still live there). So as of right now, I reckon he'd be the popular pick for #2

But we also like what the club did trading down pick 2 for 9 & 14 in 2022. The general consensus is if we have pick 1, take Reid. If we have a later pick, trade down for multiple picks in rd1.

Haha yep!

Moir is a jet, love the way he plays, his talent is off the charts, just hope he has the work ethic, and from what i have seen from his on field performance his work rate is good.

You just don't come across players who are that clean with ability to kick both feet 50+ metres, even Sam Mitchell who could kick both feet without most people knowing which was his preferred or natural foot, couldn't kick that far, or with that much power/penetration.

He's also got plenty of xfactor, speed & agility about him, reminds me a fair bit of Rachele.

There's plenty of talent this year with Reid, Watson, Moir, Curtin, Duursma, Archer Reid, Caddy and so on.

I think if he doesn't want to come, you could figure all this out from his manager and himself, interviews etc, and how confident you'd be able to convince him to stay, but if it isn't likely, as shown by the past, you're not afraid to trade down. Melbourne arguably offer Pick 5-6, Pick 15-18 & a future first for Reid.

What are Melbournes 3 first rounders.
I’m guessing
Freo 1st pick 6-10
Melbournes 1st pick 15-18
Future 1st?

Don’t reckon that would anywhere near enough.

GWS if interested could have a draft haul worth considering. This could be appealing.

Tigers pick 4-8
Gws pick 6-10
Future 1st

North Could maybe

North 1st pick 2-3
Power 1st pick 11-15
Nth future 1st or if McKay leaves and get good compensation. Pick next to there 1st.

Lastly Suns could maybe if they have someone that wants out which is pretty standard.
Suns 1st pick 5-8
Suns Future 1st
GWS 2nd round tied to suns pick 22-27
Maybe something else to sweeten.

Hawks maybe
Hawks 1st pick 2-4
Hawks future 1st
???

Guess players could come into it but generally pick trades don’t involve players these days. It’s the other way around where a player is traded and picks are swapped to sweeten the deal.

Personally I’m in the take Reid if we had pick one and then find other ways to improve our draft hand. Everyone has there own view on this however.

👍🏻

If you’re trading pick 1, you would want to at least bring in pick 2 or 3. Definitely a top 5 pick. So very unlikely that will be Melbourne. See what happens at the Carnival.

GWS would be more likely.
I'd want the same as North got last year, 2 & 3, at least.

Personally feel that Moir is a tease but I’m happy to admit I’m wrong if he fires playing for SA.
Duursma is a real worry for me with his ability to avoid the contest.
Watson good, McKercher Good, Philactides good and I reckon Nate Caddy could fire in the national carnival if he gets some supply.
I reckon the key position players that are 192-196 are back with the way ball movement has sped up recently.

Look at Allen, Cameron and Curnow for example. Even Fogarty.

Since we’re apparently going over that trade for the umpteenth time since October, what do you think happens if we don’t get involved in the Port-North trade and hang onto pick 2?

Specifically, when our pick comes up, who do we take? And who’s gone off the board at pick 1?
I reckon Wardlaw would of went 1 to north then we would of got Cadman

Hawks maybe
Hawks 1st pick 2-4
Hawks future 1st
???
That's food for thought.
After expending so much effort to tank, if they miss out on pick 1 I wonder what they would be willing to trade for Reid?

Pick 2 + F1 would be very tempting, surely Reid isn't so far ahead of #2? But they'd be silly to offer that, Hawks aren't climbing out of the bottom 4 in 2024.

I think currently he is a fair way ahead of anyone else however after 4 more months of footy and the draft combine you would think it would close.

However there is just as good a chance that he goes out and absolutely tears the 18`s championship apart.
