Reid wasn’t even close to BOG. 😂

Nope, Dev was.. 31D, 6T

Good pickup for our 5th rounder.

Happy Antonio Banderas GIF

So better than Narkle and Anderson then.

Cool.

But are you comfortable with spending that draft capital?

And will Dev ever win a B&F?

A 5th rounder.......geez can we really afford to ignore a kid and use this pick on a role player?:rolleyes:;):straining:

Has narkle ever gotten 31 disposals? Legit question?
Devs a fair bit younger too and with culley out for a while having dev round 1 next season would be nice
I definitely wouldnt be overpaying for dev but with recent events and the likely retirements/delistings devs a bigger need than narkle
I admire your single mindedness tho.

He has. And at AFL level.

Single mindedness?

I see it more of keeping the debate honest and we apply consistent assumptions / kpi's when comparing potential players to bring in. Or in discussions about who is better than who.

Both Narkle and Dev would improve on two of our bottom 6 to 8 players who have had a fair number of opportunities to secure their place on the list. Plus we have the older guys retiring.

Then why the animosity of course Hawks West Coast and north people are interested in the pick one situation
Wasn’t animosity. I was pointing out you don’t really pay attention to other clubs, after you mentioned you haven’t seen an injury list like West Coast are currently experiencing, before.

Yeah not bad - He had a couple of mongrels off the boot (possibly weather?) and a centering kick deep inside D50 that was the wrong decision or execution as I could't see who he was looking at. But promising for your first VFL game. Thanks for the highlights
Second.

Dev doesn't need to be anything other than a reasonable best 22 player to be worth a cheap acquisition.

SPS, a pick 6, was at Carlton for 6 years, played nearly 100 games and was traded for pick 52.

Dev hasn't been played, looks surplus to Brisbane's needs and was taken with a high second-rounder.

He should come very cheap. Seems like a good acquisition for a team with little depth that just needs best 22 bodies.

There's 2 thoughts about the MSD.
  • If we can improve the bottom few on our list then its a win, even with a Narkle etc to plug gaps for a couple of seasons. Jamaine Jones is a good example of a discarded player who can contribute.
  • We are shit so may as well take a few swings at some 2004 born draftees and end up with a 10 year player or at least some options to push for selection for a few seasons.
Play our injured blokes for a month at the end of the season???????????????????????

So Culley out means the club have a possible 3 positions they can open up in the next couple of weeks - Culley, Cripps and Winder.

Cole and Ryan are options but I feel Cole needs to get some footy in at the back of the season if possible. At least WAFL if he can as he showed signs of hesitation and rustiness with 2022 being all in rehab. Ryan - similar in that he needs to get some confidence and he will do more of that if playing.

I know there are some that still have faith in Winder. I am not with them as the likelihood of success feels remote. I would love to be proven wrong.

5 games to go before the bye. It feel like we might get more kids to choose from in the next 3 weeks but little top line established players returning. I can see us getting to round 15 with a 13-1 record.

Given we have the game in Launceston, I hope we take precaution so that we rest Oscar with his knee, possibly give Kelly the week off for general soreness, rest Jack with his sore back. In other words, show Hawthorn "Anything you can do we can do better".

After the Hawks, our 13 remaining fixtures are Sydney at SCG (ouch), 9 games against current top 10 clubs, a derby and Norf at home. We should have some players back but it still feels like it may just be 1 more win (Norf).

New forward line of Jamieson at FF and Waterman at CHF.

What is Winders deal? Haven't heard much about him.

Meanwhile I look at Port and their draft rebuild of 2018/19 with Rozee, Butters, Duursma, Georgiades, Mead and Bergman all coming through in a 2 year block.

I am hoping that is what we will see with Chesser, Hough, Bazzo, Ginbey, Hewett, Barnett, Burgiel, Long and the 2023 cohort.

If we can emerge out of this year's draft with another 4 very good prospects, then we are a long way in the rebuild.
