Does Watson have the scope to be a mid/forward Boomer Harvey style?
I love the cut of his jib.

That response from Reid is 100% coached from his agent who wouldn’t you know it is the same agent company as wardlaw and Sheezel. Connor sports probably have 60% of the top guys getting drafted but they’ve definitely told him to say that his manager would of been behind the camera with a big thumbs up when he answered!

Key thing I take out of the article is that his manager manages Chesser and Witherden. Witherden was on backchat recently and openly spoke up about how being drafted to Brisbane was the best thing ever even though he was initially apprehensive. Id be getting witho and Chesser to reach out later in the event we get pick 1.

The AFLPA will jump up and down and say the restricton of movement and players being forced to play where they don’t want is unacceptable but at what cost do we allow the mental patients (players) to keep running the asylum (AFL)?

Got a hold of yourself.

The players are the game... give them a little more respect.

No he’s the “Wizard” cmon Keys.
In all seriousness he’s become my favourite draftee to watch so much fun.

You failed comprehension at school didn’t you.

Re-read my post😊

This super draft is very quickly turning into super vanilla if these write-ups are anything to go by.

Last year you had Sheezel and Ashcroft burning it up, Wardlaw dominating the AFL Academy vs Collingwood after changing up his play style in the 2nd half, Tsatas, Humphrey & McKenzie racking up the touches, Phillipou the second coming of Bont/Kouta, etc.

This year is very meh. Still early days, I get it. But so meh.

If we get #1 pick, take Reid and run.
This is the post I read at work this morning and thought I’d wait until I got home from work to reply.

Then Harley Reid crosses his arms and puffs his chest out (classic defensive body posture language. Read what you will in to that WCE_phil) and says “well I’m good old country boy who loves his mama”.

And 5 pages and 20 babies chucked out of prams later…

I’ve had exactly the same thoughts about the top end names that were listed before the season started.

Reid and Watson have lived up to their hype. Not so much Moir or Duursma.

Curtin playing midfield and racking up possessions in the Colts didn’t impress me. Sure he looked good, but he’s not doing that at AFL level. I want to see if he can dominate as a key forward, or is defence really his spot?

Otherwise I am impressed with the depth of talent this year.

I remember this time last year, I really thought the 2022 draft talent really fell away after the top 20.

But by the time the draft rolled around, I thought the top 30 was pretty good.

This year, I already reckon the top 40 is on par with last season’s top 30, which probably means we’re probably looking at, at least a top 50 players by the end of the season on par with last year’s top 30.

I wouldn’t be too phased about the answer to be honest. It’s May, he’s an 18 year old. Reckon that answer changes at least publically as the year rolls on.

Interstate kids have that awareness that they will likely have to move to get a gig at the next level. When you have 10 sides in Melbourne that’s a better than 50/50 chance you won’t even have to move suburbs after the draft.

To be honest, I’d be looking to trade pick 1 if we got it anyway. Hype the boy up to the end of days and trade him to the highest bidder. I am always worried about labelling kids “generational” before they’ve even played at AFL level.

Jack Lukosius springs to mind. He’s a better than decent footballer, but no Wayne Carey.

Good point and you only need to look at Judd's draft.

Hodge 4v flags vs Judd with 1.

Buddy also with 1, although that's due to him moving to Sydney, obviously. Who knows if Hawks would've snagged another if he stayed? Doubtful, as they lost 2012 and after 2015 it was done for them.

* Buddy won 2 (2008,13)

Carry on. I’m just being a pedant

GWS have their first and Richmond’s first in this years draft… so currently 4 and 6. Our first pick and our second round pick could be enough if they were keen on him?

Any chance we apply for a priority pick if our season keeps going south?

Last year GWS traded picks 3,12 and a F2 tied to Collingwood for picks 1,53 &57 so they could get Cadman

We wouldn’t need to be adding our 2nd round pick to get 4 and 6 off GWS for Reid if it came to that

Would we look at trying to get GCs first round pick by packaging some second and third round picks? They will be looking to trade it out and get some points with their academy picks.
