"Our end", as in a bunch of dudes on the BF Carlton board guessing and making s**t up?

I don't actually know, but I wouldn't think we'd be targeting him. He's sort of zippy, but I don't see him regularly hitting targets lace out. He's pretty similar to Jermain Jones.

We need big body types who can play in the midfield. As it stands, TK, sheed, Jones, Petch. All outsider types. We don't need another.

As much as we struggle to win the ball, and I agree we need more big bodied types to help win it, we also have a huge issue with speed (not just leg speed, but speed of ball movement).

Fisher would improve that in a small way (pun partially intended).

Assuming that we take on his full $500k (and assuming that is even accurate) I would think a pick in the early 50’s would get it done (I.e. Ports 3rd rounder).

All of that said though if he wants to be Rory Lobb the second (or the short version) and dictate where he plays (midfield 100%) he can stay at Carlton. I see him playing 60/40 small fwd/outside mid.

freo fans agree:
Last year we had Chapman, Walker, etc, taking the game on at times. Now there is no run from the back half.
But doesn't help that the midfield is getting slaughtered.
Both areas need to be addressed, Brodie when fit is a start, maybe Brayshaw to the wing and Young to the centre.
Aish and Young to rotate.
Small forwards are also an issue, but it all starts in the middle.
Bigger bodies are needed, but not snail pace, and better delivery to not just bomb away.
Mundy started in the backline, its time Young was moved.

I'd call b.s. on West Coast offering him a better contract than what he's currently on.

AFL average means nothing. AFL mean is the important starting point in such a discussion. And the AFL mean is just over $300k. If carlton are paying Fisher anything north of $300k, more fool them.
You do realise 'average' and 'mean' is the same thing right!!

This is the sort of season where the players aged 22-26 (17 players) on the list gets challenged in terms of showing they have value in contributing to Best 22 moving forward.

Allan - No brainer

Duggan - No brainer

B Williams - Has reached competitive standard

J Jones - Has reached competitive standard

Of the rest of the pool, it is fair to say the jury has been out for much of the season.

FINALLY, we have another in Petrucelle showing potential after a positional change.

He must be kept.

The definitive Happy Mastenator list of players on the Eagles list who i think we could cut this year without it coming back to bite us from youngest to oldest (super young players have been kept for now but Baker, Dewar and Winder all probably belong here). Noting that obviously we can't/won't drop all of these at once for a range of reasons, including contractual status, can't replace 15+ players at once etc.,

Trew
Ledwards
Hedwards
Xon
Jameison
Foley
West
Witho
Waterman
Rotham
SPS
Clark
Gaff
Shuey
Hurn

I'd probably add Nic Nat to the list.

Players like Dom Sheed are going nowhere. Cripps,. McGovern, Darling are aging out in due course, but don't need to be flicked just yet.

Are you proposing to tack up 15 players in the N/D rookie draft?

Just don't think we'd miss any of those if they were cut.

Suggestions of 19 for Brockman or anything of note for Fisher make me sad.

We (will) have pick 1 in the PSD, let's use it.
Brockman free via PSD.
Fisher, depending on size of his contract we're taking on, either a token pick or make Carlton pay us for the salary dump.

Out of that list i would keep Jamieson

Always teasing, never delivering. If he does enough to make another club offer us something, we should take it and run.
true.

He's the type that would be great in a team that's flying.

Prob end up at Port and kick 40

There's no way it happens. Crows paid a similar pick for Jordan Dawson in a similar situation. To suggest either of these players has shown anything close to what Dawson had is just silly.

In regards to Fisher my opinion is that the last thing we need on this list is another player who has been in a professional environment for over 5 years but is still unable to provide consistent AFL performances week in week out, particularly if they've shown an unwillingness to have a defensive side to their game.
