Thought Samo deserved one more year. Has had a bit of a rough go at it since he’s been at the club and thought he showed a bit as HHF late in the year with decent skills and good forward pressure.

I guess at 25 (26 before next season) there isn’t really much point seeing if he works out and we’re better off going after an 18 year old (Collard) instead to fill that role.

I like DeMattia without him being Reid's mate .

He is hard at it , has electric pace that he actually uses to burst out of stoppage and tackles like a beast .

His kicks can be wayward but mostly from stoppage

He sounds like a perfect in and under mid who's role is to start a handball chain.

And that can be taught. Sounds like he has some nice attributes that match a list need.

I’m surprised they cut SPS. I wasn’t keen on his recruitment in the first place but I thought he was pretty useful this year on the odd occasion he played, and he showed the ability to find time and deliver the ball effectively inside 50.

I’m glad to see Trew hanging in there.

No appetite for defensive running was his problem. It’s why he often looked like he had time and delivered the ball well.

Compared to others that have been given plenty of rope over the years I feel as though he’s been shafted. Hopefully a sign of the club being more ruthless and decisive with list management but he hasn’t really had a good shot at it here.

We’re essentially bringing Brockman or Robertson to fill that list spot and it’s 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

I'm assuming we still want a ruck as well as Robertson and Brockman, plus with Maric we have an extra rookie on the list so need a cut to make that work. Currently unclear about Culley's status as well and what list he will be on. Seems like we are headed to 4, maybe 5 draft picks and 1-2 rookie picks?

That’s probably the issue where probably not gonna be competent team for the next 2 years so what’s the point in having him.

Do feel for him tho he’s had some rotten luck with being in shitty sides, win loss record of 29/92 at a percentage of 23%

To clarify I meant DeMattia warrants being picked on his ability alone. The fact that him at Reid are mates is just a cherry on top in terms of them settling in and retention. I think speed and hardness are two things we absolutely need. He’s only been focusing on footy for the last couple of years (an outstanding junior cricketer too), he’s got huge upside.

What.. over 100 games at afl level not enough rope?? Not enough chances to show he isn’t an afl player..
