Assuming we get both Deven and Brockman what are we thinking we're going to have to trade?
Potentially trade out of the third round completely? Obviously the Hawks and Brisbane will want at least Ports second rounder.

19 seems to high for moir at this stage, thats how much hes fallen this year.maybe at our next pick

Adelaide have 2 early 20s picks i doubt moir gets past .

He was one of their train on afl academy players .

Moir could be a flip but he has the tools and talent to become a really good HFF/mid which is the hardest position in the game .

Atm he doesn't have the tank for all the unrewarded running involved in that position so he floats in and out of games

Don't think AFL will give them Sanders.
That game on the weekend shows that they are almost there.
Will be pick 2 and pick 3 for compo.

Sanders is like the AFL handing out a top draft pick for absolutely no reason. Priority picks are not gareenteed and never should be. Clubs only get them when a club is in desperate need. North are not in desperate need and the match on the weekend against Gold Coast only proves it. They won by quite a bit too. AFL would of took notice.
Sanders and callinan are part of norfs NGA academy. The afl will probably just let them match any bid instead of outside pick 40 .

That future 1st of ports will probably be enough to match a sanders bid .

Slim McGovern prolonging his career isn't the ideal matchup for Tex.

& Curtin isn't that lockdown type either.

McGovern should be at the police station this morning reporting a grape that happened to him at optus stadium last night

Last year's compensation to the Roos was so underwhelming that to me the AFL has shown they are very reluctant to provide compensation. With an 18 team comp, if it sets a generous compensation precedent, it will have to give out all manner of draft picks in most years.

I just get the feeling they won't get pick 3 for McKay, it will be a Band 2 compo. Pick 3 for a below average player has all the wrong optics.

And at most Norf will be allowed to match a bid for Sanders and not be allowed to preselect him.

The Norf fans will melt harder than this board did when we beat the Bulldogs.
Norf have something like 28 first and second rounders on their list . With a bunch of top 10 picks.

They don't need anymore high end picks

Afl would be better providing them with extra soft cap space for development coaches .

Problem is afl will have to give them extra money to use the soft cap space

Play hard ball

Third rounders for both as you said, otherwise PSD threat is there.

Can't see the need for Dev Robertson if we have Reid, Hewitt and Ginbey.
I actually tend to agree now we are getting Reid, unless its for a token pick. We have enough mids for the next few years with Kelly and Sheed, those 3 and possibly Culley/Burgiel/Hough rotating.

We'll get a top pick next year and most likely another high quality mid, so from there we want to just blood those guys.

Token picks. They get what we offer, otherwise walk them.

It’s about time it goes our way. I still think the club should get PP exactly the same scenario as norf.

Bundle them up for GCs 4 - with a promise not to bid.

It's what we should offer, not sure I can think of a time we've played hardball on a trade though

Jamie Cripps as well

Also it’s not like we have up much for Petrevski-Seton

Brockman and Robertson will be intriguing if they nominate us

Think we will draft Reid for sure the club will need the hype after they sack Simmo and will help entice the new coach........
Agree on preferred position basis. He's a decent runner though which Hewett and Reid aren't.

I hope we bypass Sheed as a mid asap! Certainly not to be in the midfield for the next few years?
Arguably we play better without him. Where does he go?

Another horror year of injuries in 2024.

Will just get the 1 top ten pick if that happens, although, I will be curious if we were to win the spoon next year whether we will be in line for draft compensation akin to North's.
Would be two spoons and 3 years of being absolute trash (bottom 2).
